"a certain amount of grace." the effects of ageing as are evident in your word choice. grace, empathy, thinking of others and questioning yourself are the effects of the older brain. which is wonderful. your approaching the status of homo sapiens. you are able to supress the fight flight response and engage your social and cognitive assets. when young, we "react" when older, we begin to slow down and think. fortunately you are a humanist and demonstrate a plasticl, agile brain, and fewer hormones.

22:30 - I don't celebrate Angela Merkel as a role model. She single handedly helped Germany go from the 4th largest economy to its current state of demise. Manufacturing is what drove this country and put Europe on their shoulders. She knew solar and wind couldn't provide enough energy to power homes in Deutschland while turning off all nuclear power plants. She is a scientist who screwed her own population. I'm thrilled I don't live there because of her decisions as a leader. Can a politician of her statue admit they were wrong? That's rhetorical. No. This country is forced to burn more coal and wood pellets today than before, hence are dirtier with a larger carbon footprint. There are many factors at play (mass immigration to EU from Syria, Africa and Afghanistan) but she was in charge for 19 years. 2 million refugees moved in during her tenure. It appears to be too many people to support. I have to admit Trump was right about relying on cheap Russian power. 2023 doesn't lie. Hopefully people realize she made some poor decisions that haunt the country today even though she gave nice yearly Christmas speeches.

Yes, it felt imbalanced, too much time was spent on body strength - it seems to matter a lot to Scott, it's likely that his challenge is or will be age and the loss of physical power (I am not saying I don't understand him). Nevertheless I agree with both of them that it's important to be in good physical shape, good for the individual, good for the nation. I liked Ryan's point that it's a win to put on your running shoes, every time. Discipline can be a rewarding virtue. Amongst many other things sports increases the overall share of things you are in control of, and this may add satisfaction to your life. PS: I practice martial arts, I really love it but I ... NEVER ... think I want to be able to kill everyone in the room)
