Randomdude742 uhm, yes, and pretty much every other pianist around here I know. Even some of the guitarists and drummers I know can play beethoven in general... it's the basics here. Basically beethoven was my introduction to piano. I think I knew 80% of beethoven's pieces before I played a year?
@Orrinton10 жыл бұрын
theBabyDead Well then, you're either lying or you're a very talented musician. For me, piano playing is just a fun hobby that I like to do in my free time. I also play a lot of soccer, which I also find to be very fun. I don't play piano for a living like you might, I'm just a teenager, and I just play it for fun.

+Benji Blue What Paul said was totally uncalled for. He's not a music critic writing for a newspaper or magazine. He's just a mean, worthless human being who gets pleasure from anonymously putting down other people on the internet. He's like a cowardly little boy who throws stones at other kids and then runs away.
@RSVikingJohn9 жыл бұрын
Hero3128 I doubt it will change him if you say he is: "worthless human being who gets pleasure frown other people on the internet." It only spreads negativity. I agree that this is the situation currently, but it doesn't bring any sort of development by saying it to him. Im just saying that nothing will change by you saying it, and it only spreads negativity. I understand your reasoning.

Yes, yes, yes! You've heard of dynamics and musicality and you applied them well through out the entire piece. Brilliant use of rit. and varying of tempo to build suspense. Too often ppl start this piece like a bat outta hell and let it fly without considering where and when this piece would've been played. You gave it that "saloon" feeling/sound... Awesome! I think you're ready for The Cascades, my fav of Joplin's work. Keep up the great work!

I used to play Piano pretty well while at high school but I could never even begin to practice this. I first heard it played from a fellow pupil in my school year who had extremely bad autism and to this day I've never heard it played as well as he used to play it. I remember he would actually add additional keys to his left supporting hand that added to the sound and he did this by stretching his pinky finger FARRRRR out. I often wonder how he's doing. Will always love this song. Props to anyone who can play it!

There are many versions of this song out there, alot of them are simplified and/or dont include the last two themes. But this is the authentic version as Joplin originally wrote it. The book I use is "Joplin - Complete Rags for Piano (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics) Vol. 2020". Its only 12 bucks on amazon and it has 42 of Joplin's rags. I highly recommend it!

This soundtrack is indeed legendary and absolutely timeless! Thank you very much. Could you please tell me how did you learn to play piano in such a magnificent way?
@chocotiger8 жыл бұрын
Just two things: 1. Practice - no shortcuts around this unfortunately. I learn songs through sheer repetition and recognizing patterns. Starting a new piece is always boring and monotonous, but once your muscle memory starts to take over, it becomes fun. 2. When you can finally play the song, listen to your favorite professional recording. Identify the specific reasons why your playing doesn't sound as good. Go back to step 1 to knock out each of those reasons one by one: rhythm, dynamics, wrong notes, ect... For stylistic elements: mimic what you like, exclude what you don't like. Put your own spin on the piece. Thanks for listening!
@kathrinfeszter8 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. My pleasure! These two techniques are pretty interesting. You have to know: Since I was a little kid I learned how to play the piano. And nowadays I really love piano. My problem is that I played it at last a long time ago. I think seven years have past. But do you know what? This kind of music gives inspiration like no other and I'm keen to start learning this music on piano. I have to thank you!
