Artistically he was doing great. Solid new band, good album and touring. It is not all tragic, I think he proved he was a force on his own. So I actually respect his final years.

I will check it out based upon your comment. I love Scott Weiland. But I saw a 2015 recording where he wasn't too well. It was upsetting. He had demons, but he tried to power thru. He has a fucking great history on tape, on cd on vinyl, on video, on DVD, on Blu-ray. Who else can say that's their legacy? Not you reading this. Nor me writing this x

Can’t believe they did sucker train blues. Such a badass opening song when with velvet revolver. He wrote so many awesome hits. He is struggling with this song though. He used to be on top of the world and think his best singing besides core was with velvet revolver. He was so much more energetic with that band. I hate knowing I could have seen them live but didn’t go for some reason I can’t remember. Rip to the best frontman!!

This is the first time I've commented on youtube in years, I feel the need to show some support. These guys are a tight unit. Scott's amazing, he's always had his heart vested in his music, and I'll always support him because he's one of the most talented human beings on the planet. I don't care if his voice cracks a little, everyone has their "off" days. I believe the new album with the Wildabouts will be very good (has Scott ever been a part of a less than stellar album, after all?), and I don't believe that Scott's done inspiring people, certainly not me. People generally prefer stories of success, so I think there'll continue to be support out there for Weiland. People are rooting for him. He's a classy, quality artist. And he might not sing perfectly every time, but he's irreplaceable.

Thanks Gene Greenwood! Scott at his best!!! This is how I saw Scott perform twice. He was happy and funny and enjoyed the whole night! Don't care what people say about him, he had the best rock voice in my opinion. He could do anything and anybody when he was in the mood. I think lately he loved smaller, more intimate places. He loved David Bowie and his songs as well, he made sure he did his best when he performed them. Awesome show, you lucky you were there.
