I saw this tour in St. Louis, Missouri, earlier. We were told that Scott was clean and into yoga now or something like that. On the last number, as people left to get to their cars early, Scott said "We're the best fucking band you'll ever see!". I can hear it and see him to this day at that moment and it still holds true, he was right, thanks buddy and sorry for those lame-ass fans!

Ya, it's a Rock-'n'-roll show and as much as he moves around I'd be more surprised if he wasn't winded. And, after all, he did choose to keep on smoking. He does seem to be cracking on his high breaks, but he's still loads better here than he was on what was it Jimmy Kimmel and that show in Argentina or Brazil in 2014, I think it was, when he didn't fall but jumped off the wagon. When he was on though, he was truly a sight to behold though, wasn't he?
@DT24K5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, can’t help but to notice every friggin time I’ve watched this show. And that reply that made earlier to ya that it’s a live rock n roll show, all the moving around/dancing I find to definitely NOT be the answer! This man was able to dance the friggin night away thruout 2+ hr shows and be just as crystal clear with any/all carried notes that voice of his was able to provide. Got to see em (in the Weiland era, that is) 7 times from the Tiny Music era up thru ‘self titled’ tour and his vocs were on tip top level from beginning to end of show... that is all but ONCE! That was the very last time I got a chance to see em which was front friggin row right in front of Dean. That show was in Cincinnati on August 25, 2010. He was not in the best condition by far. Hell, not only was his singing really off that night but he even started the show off in a really bad way. While singing opening verses of Crackerman, he wasn’t watching what he was doing apparently and unbelievably fell straight off the stage. Now even though the man did a very embarrassing thing here, what was impressive though is that not only did the band keep playing BUT Scott kept singing in place at that. Maybe a slight moment or so of silence but continued to sing as he was trying to pick himself up before stagehands could even get to him to help!

I think this era (1996-Velvet Revolver years) Scott was at top of his game as far as being a badass frontman etc. onstage anyway. Man he really came into his own from earlier core performances to these performances. We were lucky he lasted long enough to become a truly great rockstar even with the cliche's that go along with it (actually probably gave him the confidence to be fearless onstage) I was lucky to see him 6 times from 1996-2008 and they all rocked! Seen them this year with Jeff Gutt still sounded great but S.Weiland was better and was just Rockstar magic and maybe unpredictable which added to his intrigue and shit he would say. The other guys are probably glad Gutt just sticks to the script and does job they pay him to do (show up and sing) which is half the battle. When Scott was good he eas great and NOBODY could do it better. The last couple Weiland years Scott couldnt even compare to what he once was...Sad but true, but videos like this we remember how great he once was and how he should be remembered! Thanks for posting!!

Man I have to disagree to a certain point. Scott always was an amazing front man and his vocals were as spot on as could be considering his ramped up stage presence, BUT, some of his best vocal performances came with Velvet Revolver hands down! More mature and serious sounding, almost like saying "look what I can really do!" Scott was one of my biggest influences in me being a front man too. I modeled a lot of my vocal phrasing after him. I always loved his vocal style. He never tried to be bigger or overbearing, he just did it naturally, full power at every performance! His Velvet Revolver days, he really showed his full range and power! Just my opinion though

Finally, someone who references Iggy Pop! I thought so too. Everyone uses Bowie, Lennon, Bryan Ferry. Which are all viable comparisons, but I've seen Iggy live several times and he's always shirtless and the way he moves around the stage, Weiland has definitely seen Iggy and incorporated his own version into his performance. I never saw STP live, it's one of my regrets and it's now to late. Weiland was the greatest rock frontmen to date. IMHO. What a damn shame he's gone too soon.

Jay: there was a lot of great music in the 90s, but that decade only qualifies as the last good/great one for music. try going back to the mid/late 60s through the mid 70s, or late 70s through the mid 80s. the amount of incredible music before the 90s is absolutely staggering. in no special order, there are bands like: the beatles zeppelin the stones the who pink floyd styx tom petty the eagles ac/dc the doors then there's all the great new wave stuff from the 80s, and there was a ton. kinda makes the 90s look pretty tame.

STP is one of the very best rock bands ever. And Scott Weiland was THE best front man to ever walk a stage. Actually, he owned whatever stage he was on when he was on it. Owned the crowd too. Weiland on an off day was way better than most on their best day. And from all these shows I'm watching, he didn't have too many off days anyway

I miss the days when people went to a show to see it, get into it, engage with the audience and simply have an experience!.. If this show happened today, half the crowd would be standing there like robots holding their cellphones up and blocking the view of the people that are actually trying to be in the moment and enjoy the experience!.. Im all for the artists that are banning (or trying to) ban the use of phones or at least curb their usage!..

Scott was a great singer, it is so difficult to maintain the pitch and balance during a performance at these levels. I loved and I love her essence. Who sings know what I mean. Express, using the technique, when energy appears to be falling because you have already given so much, salty sweat entering the eyes and burns, and you continue to express everything! I've always fascinated by the technique, but above all for your esprissione unique. Thanks Scott for what you have left.

Scott's only 34 here and already showing signs of fatigue during what must have been very exhausting concerts- and the (self-admitted) junkie lifestyle plus trips to many rehabs and jails throughout the land could not have helped things for him either -
