That and it’s the rhythm that they get in. Shooting a bunch of shots in a row from the same spot let’s you easily get into a rhythm shooting the ball. The top shooters can hit consistently in the rhythm of the game when they haven’t shot in a few minutes.

You can see he's a talented player and not taking away from that, the thing I've really been impressed with is his energy and positivity in interviews. A lot of these kids don't care or just don't put much thought into how important being a professional is. He looks like he's got a good head on his shoulders. I hope he gets drafted to a team that can expand on his abilities.

Ok Dom, Ruby, Lawrence and Curt, i want to see if y’all have any basketball IQ at all. I know y’all aren’t against losing pick 21, and some ppl don’t think Obi will be anything more than a serviceable backup. So the sticking point is IQ, and dont get me wrong, i like IQ and think he’ll develop into a solid pro. But i dont see him as a all star player. There are players in this draft right now, that will drop down to the 19 and 21st pick that by talent alone, are better players than IQ right now! If i move the 21st pick and IQ, and got in position to draft Bouknight, we would be getting a better all around player. So moving what i proposed prior, moving up, keeping 19 and drafting Barnes and maybe Tre Mann @19, we will be ahead of the rebuild by light years. And lets get something understood, when we finally move on from Randle after next season, trust me, y’all wont miss him as much as you think.

We've reached the point that all standardized tests reach... Which is where people only learn to master the test... But it doesn't necessarily translate to reality... Some guys may be able to make all of these shots in controlled environments, but they will never take a shot in a pro game and if they do it will be too out of rythm... Some guys may struggle to hit these shots in a canned scenario but are lights out under pressure in high speed game.... So it's a mixed bag. I think really what a good scout should be trying to see at these things is the player's work ethic. See how they approach drills. See how they act when they miss or make an error. See how they respond to criticism. See if they make adjustments on the fly. See how they hustle to the next drill. And of course consistency in shot making does say something about how much time theyve spent preparing for this exam... Which hopefully would transfer to preparing for professional games.

I heard this first from analyst Chad Ford that Toronto might see Barnes as a future PG. Barnes said that he tried to model his game after Magic Johnson as well as actually playing the PG position at FSU. I don't know if Barnes has the creativity and elite passing ability of Magic, but they sure do share a lot in terms of physical tools.

I don’t see Kuminga’s bouncy athleticism and hops in Barnes. If both reach max ceiling, I take Kuminga. But Kuminga has higher bust potential. I can see Barnes being a lless athletic Aaron Gordan with better playmaking ability (hence a significantly better player than Gordon) if he reaches his max potential. I certainly don’t see a Giannis in him though. He is not nearly as tall or long.
