Same thing your mother probably told you a out keeping things ckean at home. People are more likely to respect it and keep things clean. Plus you don't have messes piling on other messes. In the end it save labor and makes for happier customers. Plus they trust your food more for obvious reasons.

SHAUN! You're killing me! Your City Market video warmed my heart last week and now this! Random Buc-ees trivia for you...the Buc-ees that's in Luling was the first Mega Buc-ees. There were billboards advertising it along the 1,009 miles from Jacksonville, Florida. The largest is in Missouri now, but they're going to start building a bigger 77,000 sqft store to replace the older one in Luling. Thank you for your videos!

The largest will be the one in Sevierville TN once it opens until the new one in Luling is built. The one being built in Missouri will only be about 53k sq ft, so nowhere near being bigger than the one in New Braunfels.

Hence your comment about lots of Scots fighting at Alamo. However he fought Goliad, Gonzales and numerous others after the Alamo fell. Most of my family is buried on a hill near Luling, TX where you ate at city market. My favorite BBQ. I grew up eating there! Shaun, follows is some info for you re. the city: BRAWN-fulls (located in the German-settled area near San Antonio, and named after a German city--BROWN-felce). Before WW2, and the resulting prejudice against German-Americans (+ Japanese--another story), this area was populated by a group of immigrants who passed along their German to the kids and grandkids, making yet another unique area of the US, with its own brand of German, the other being in Amish communities around the USA. To paraphrase the lead-in to a classic movie line, "Beaver nuggets--corny and sweet together. That's a good combination, surely." The comeback is, "Yes, it is a good combination, and don't call me Shirley!" (From the movie "Airplane".) The first location was in Luling, TX, but the HQ is in Lake Jackson, which is south of the Houston area. Amazingly, the world's largest truck stop is in eastern Iowa, along I-80, and is 100,000 sq. ft., compared to 75,000 for the largest Buc-ee's. Woh!

Also, I dunno why, but the fountain drinks seem better there than anywhere else .. it may be just atmosphere, but I swear the root beer is better than anywhere according to those who like rb, but the fountain coke is so good too!! Careful, Sir, we're gonna make a Texan outta you yet!!!

10 Miles from my house. They make wonderful deli sandwiches too. Buying FRESH jerky is worth doing. 160 fuel pumps there. The one in Tennessee is slightly larger, but they as a result are expanding the one you visited. I hope you were able to go spend some time in the rivers there (floating on tubes). New Braunfels is home to the shortest river in the world - the Comal River. One mile for source to mouth.

That bird that you heard outside of Buc-ee's is called a Grackle. They are sort of the unofficial state bird of Texas and are seen throughout the state.

As a kid I lived in Dunoon Scotland. Now I live in Texas and Ohio. Next time I would recommend the Cinnamon roll. And if you’ve not been there yet, Sea World in San Antonio.
