The easiest way to eat mussels is to use the top part of the shell like a scoop, snap it off then scoop up the mussle from the bottom part of the shell and collect some of the garlic liquor from the bowl. This is how my spanish neighbours did it when I lived in spain. Thanks for the video.

Yeah that's the way. Add some chilli flakes at start of heating them and maybe some extra garlic. I add white wine and parsley at the end. Crusty bread and fries on the side to soak left over juices! Boom!

Oh yes, the pickled egg man with his basket; he popped into the pubs at the end of the night with his cockles, mussels, pickled eggs, and crab sticks. How many of us, after a skinful, ate the lot, regardless to taste, and then wonder why we had the shits the next day 😂😂

Pickled cockles are awesome I used to eat a hole jar of them at a time, sadly you rarely see them now or they are in those tiny jars that are 4x the price

Probably defeats the object for shat you're doing but for mussel virgins try and pimp them up by adding some shallots; cream and extra garlic served with crusty bread

The aldi muscles are quite good quality for the price. I do like to make my own though when i can get hold of muscles from a fishmonger. Love mine in abit of cream, slosh of white wine, half a garlic clove and a pinch of chopped dill and pepper. Lovely hot with hot crusty bread and fresh butter 👌

Just a tip Eat one of the mussels then use then use the joined shell as a pair of tweezers to pluck and eat the remaining mussels.

Absolutely love mussels mate ,we usually get fresh ones out of the river here in Australia where I live ,and throw them straight on the BBQ, when rhe shell opens they are done . Add some lemon and salt. Beautiful

Lol hahaha 😂 thanks for the laugh Nat. Keith, when it comes to mussels I'll eat then anyway they're served. I love them in tomato soup Italian style and with a marinara sauce on spaghetti. Great on a seafood pizza too. I'm glad you tried them and found they're reasonably good. Best to pop them all from the shell into the garlic butter broth and have as a soup. Great review. Poor Nat 🤣 We absolutely love mussels but not tried Aldi's ones. If you eat one and keep the shell's hinge intact you can use it like tweezers for all the others 🙂
