That looked like a great day, one for the memory bank.

I really like that you don't have music and a bunch of nonsense on these videos. I almost experienced the same peace as you must've felt. Best wishes in all your journeys...

Thank you! It's a difficult choice but I think it should be about the sailing as much as possible. Glad you like it!

I didn't manage to sail my Wayfarer much in 2023 but I'm determined to get out more next year. I hope to get to the stag where I am 'as one' with my boat as you clearly are - it might take a while! I love that part of the world but have only sea paddled it, not sailed it yet. Great set of videos.

Thank you very much! Hope you get out for some great adventures of your own.

What a beautifully shot and well presented video. No doubt you know exactly what you are doing and had completed all the necessary arithmetic for the clearance under that bridge, but wow, that looked close from the camera angle you shot from. Thrilling!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Fortunately that bridge is just Wayfarer-sized!

As a kid my dad started my sailing experience with a timber Wayfarer (yours is in spectacular condition). He's passed, but the 10m steel sailing boat he built is now based at Seil (you sailed within half a mile of her mooring), that's our playground. Lovely to see your adventure, and you were lucky to have the wind behind you down the Snd o Mull, it's either with you or against you.

It's a beautiful place to sail! Yes, I was fortunate all round with the weather this year. Managed to avoid a lot of the rain too!

@@WayfarerAdventures It really is, and always interesting, keeping an eye on tidal streams etc keeps you alert, and many stunning empty anchorages - but we don't tell anyone about all this 😉.

Moonshadow is awesome as already noted here. You always seem to have a good turn of speed and very little wake. Other than your expertise is she quite light versus a fibreglass build? I had a fibreglass Wanderer for about 25 years which was 👍 but seemed to get too heavy for sandy beach launching!
@WayfarerAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yes, she's definitely a smidge lighter than most of the fibreglass ones of the same age. Much stiffer which is a noticeable difference when sailing. She's been set up very efficiently with good sails and a well tuned rig which also adds a lot to the performance.

@@WayfarerAdventures the rigging and sails do look excellent! I’m now sailing a quite ancient Mirror and it’s the exact opposite. Everything gives like crazy but then no capsizing! It’s Loch Sween and nearby I’ve done most of my sailing a great area and enjoyed your video, your trip with friends.

Work in progress to be honest! It's an android tablet mounted on a plywood frame.
