Facts ya.. a critical part if the deception is not revealing Jenny's age until the end lol. Also, Ren has said she is not necessarily a call girl. She is a young woman, possibly returning home after partying, wearing too much makeup, as her upbringing is likely not good, the same as screech.

I don't believe Screech was a psychopath at all. In my mind he was a really scared and immature boy who couldn't regulate neither his behaviour nor feelings -part bc of growing up on the streets/in the system but also bc of traits he inherited. He also doesn't have the capability to understand Jennie's freeze reaction or the consequence of his actions bc he is caught in his own rage. Pretty much like a toddler.
@kathyknight523622 күн бұрын
@@sarag1521 this is exactly what I thought about Screech, a child brought up in a dysfunctional life. Not all his fault how he turned out and not being taught how to handle his emotions. It’s a story, yet these things actually happen, so sad. One thing about REN is how his songs always get people talking about subjects they normally would not.

Ren has said in an Instagram post (I think it was last year) when someone asked him about Jenny being a prostitute. Ren's answer was "I sure hope not", (this part I'm paraphrasing) she's had enough bad things going on. So, there's a lot of lore to the Tales. She might be or might not be. It's up to interpretation. However, it is not confirmed by Ren. 😊

Wont go into the teenage bit with Jenny, you know ....! Did Ren actually say that Patrick and Jenny were together on instagram?? I do know there is an instagram clip where they acted out the night leading up to Screech meeting Jenny in the ally. In that, there is a implication, but I am not sure it was ever confirmed by Ren. Did people really ring the police when he was screaming??? I have never heard that? I understand that in *Murderer, the pedestrian man called the police. Have never heard such a story for any other song. I have read that someone shouted at them to shut up, and they explained they were filming and it was ok. Have you not seen the person watching them and smoking in Jenny's Tale from the lit balcony/rooftop? My main suggestion would be to stop believing what you read in comments. Take the responsible route and find the source for the idea for yourself to verify, rather than perpetuating ideas which may not be correct. When you interrupt to tell them he is rewinding, it seemed to take their attention away from what they are hearing and on to you for that instant so they lost a bit of the flow of what they were hearing. Wonder why you did not wait for them to hear the acoustic change themselves? If not, you could have then pointed it out later. They can then go and listen for it in their own time. Overall, you did well, a bit like blood from a stone at times. Good call pairing them together for this one. Stuck this out, but found it really frustrating at times. Not sure if it was just my mood, or what, but will give the feedback anyway as it may, or not be of use to you moving on. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the next one. Perhaps you could share some "homework" with us if you find the clip of the night leading up to Jenny's tale? Also, look out for the 360° live of the Tales. You are able to move the camera around yourself to watch the audience. It is great fun.
@WeeFlyMan24 күн бұрын
Uncle Scott, do you really have to point out every time in Violet's Tale that the ascending sequence Ren plays is representing time rewinding. I'm sure your reactors could work that out for themselves but they seldom seem to get the chance!
@petttybettty20 күн бұрын
If he don't, the comments will be full of "yall missed the rewinding guitar sound he did" because reactors can't make everyone happy. Next time, just enjoy the video. You're part of the problem.
@WeeFlyMan20 күн бұрын
@petttybettty The whole point is it spoils my (and, I suspect others) enjoyment. He is denying the guests to notice things for themselves and I'm looking to see whether they get it. (Plus, in this instance, I think the guitar effect is pretty damn obvious, so it also smacks if condescension).
@petttybettty20 күн бұрын
@KennethBeck0 and the other half of the viewers leave comments asking why irs not pointed out and discussed because that's what they prefer. Reactors can't make everyone happy is my point. Instead if being another complaining, negative comment, just don't watch if it bothers you so much you feel the need to say something, because there's plenty others nitpicking everything else. Just don't add to the negativity. Ren's audience is going to end up running off reactors because no matter what they do, 1/3 of the comments they receive contain gatekeepers, criticism, insults, etc.
@WeeFlyMan20 күн бұрын
@petttybettty You're completely missing my point. I'm not saying these things shouldn't be pointed out or discussed, just not made before the guests have a chance to think about it for themselves first. I think 90% of first time listeners would understand what is going on here so I'm just not sure why Scott feels the need to spell it out every single time he shows this to someone new . My original comment is not intended to be negative nor is it a complaint but simply a legitimate suggestion to the presenter arising from my feelings towards the content of the video (I believe that 's why they have comments in KZbin?🤨)
@Codex777724 күн бұрын
Matt appears pretty clueless but Cristal seemed to get it... mostly. Though both of them dancing and laughing, while Violet's being beaten to a pulp, does suggest otherwise...

Hiya! Just wanted to clarify, we were both listening to the rap and caught into the flow of his rhythm.
@MissyGail4eva23 күн бұрын
Cristal beat me to it, but after seeing countless reactions to 'The Tales', I can assure you the enthusiasm for that part is quite common.. especially for those who happen to like beatboxing, rap, hip hop, polka, house, i.e. any music genre whose main focal point is the rhythm and/or bpm. It's Ren's absolute genius flow switch from a dramatic bardcore to a kinetically engaged spitting of bars that garners such a response. It's not that the subject matter is ignored, rather it's the surprising introduction of pure rap bars that gets any listener who holds an innate sense of musicality so excited.
@cristalmangoqueen242823 күн бұрын
@ thank you for adding to it! I really appreciate it, I get nervous sometimes. I don’t want people to feel like I’m taking away from the seriousness of the topic. It was the only part I knew from the tales so I got too into the music.
@petttybettty20 күн бұрын
you know, not just what others have said here, but many people have such outward reactions to triggering parts because it's a defense mechanism to allow them to continue shooting the reaction. The emotions can be really overwhelming, and it can help to redirect our focus onto something else happening in that moment in order to avoid spiralling. It's very unfair to judge so harshly. Ren preaches love and acceptance, and you're doing the opposite.

Such an important social commentary when so many countries are failing to protect vulnerable adults, and more-so the children caught in the middle or left behind; add in the increased violence in the streets from so much mental illness with no adequate resources, and an economy making people struggling to live, causing so much homeless more than ever.

There is some controversy about Jenny's identity. Many say she was a prostitute and I must say that conclusion is implied. Yet, it has been said that Ren was surprised when it was suggested to him and I have yet to hear Ren confirm that Jenny was anything other than an ordinary girl. There's reality and there's mythology and it is hard to know what is what with Ren. I love these triple reactions of yours.
@Codex777724 күн бұрын
There isn't controversy. There's merely some people that don't want to believe that Jenny was a prostitute. :) Ren himself HAS said that Jenny was a prostitute and the song makes it pretty clear too. She's was wandering the streets of London, late at night, on her own, at the age of 14. Streets that she'd "walked a thousand times before". She was wearing rouge and high heels and just "wanted to escape" All interpretations are valid but Ren himself has said that Jenny was a prostitute. :)
