The Hart Family was an institution here in Calgary. The funeral was massive closing down the street in front of the Funeral home. I lived beside the Cemetery, there was roads blocked off in and out, but from my place I still had a great view of the funeral procession into the cemetery

I had the opportunity to meet Owen less than a year before he died. I was going to have surgery a couple days later, Owen came from behind the autograph table he was at, knelt down and prayed for me. Many months later, I was in the then Kemper Arena the night he died. When he first fell, I was looking in the opposite direction and immediately leard the loud impact over the audio from the large “titantron” playing a pre-recorded promo filmed earlier that day. When the lights came on and everyone could see Owen laying in the ring, at first some wondered if it was apart of the show but within seconds, I knew it wasn’t. I could catch a small glimpse of him as he was being carried out and knew it would be announced that he died. Owen’s eyes were wide open and he wasn’t blinking, not talking, etc and CPR was being given to him and it seemed as though a ton of people were surrounding him as he was being carried out. Owen was a hell of a guy and over 20 years since his tragic death is terribly missed by many, myself included.

It was a gym and he was beyond the beautiful and I know that we can't always hold on to these gems that we are so Grace to have in our life but he was a dynamic person and beyond kind it is with the deepest deepest sorrow did I you know say that we lost such a beautiful gym but somewhere in the Milky Way he's shining we were greatly blessed sometimes we don't realize how blessed we are until after they're gone he was a dynamic human being.

I was there when the accident happened. I was only 11 years old and 13 rows from the ring. I'm 32 now and will never forget that night. Your absolutely right everyone thought it was a doll until the King ran over to him and signaled for EMTs. A dozen or so wrestlers came out to the top of the entrance ramp. Some were breaking down others were comforting them. After removing him from sight they made an announcement that he had passed and that they were going to continue the show in his honor, which at the time I didn't realize how messed up that was. The rest of the night there was no energy in that arena, no chants, no boo's, no nothing. The remaining matches were hard to watch because you could see the pain the other wrestlers were in. It was by far one of the craziest things to happen in my childhood. R.I.P Owen
