Cool beans , Jed ! That was a pretty slick repair job on the old Allis Chalmers engine boys ! Sounded like she fired a couple times there , so good job !

Jed I'm more of a GM guy but like the others, especially the Mopars you guys got laying around (the AMC too). However I'm really digging the tractor stuff 👍

I definitely appreciate the help on the 273 rebuild. If I knew I was keeping you from recording I would have kept the call shorter. LOL. New pushrods got here yesterday. Will be back at it tomorrow.

Thanks Jed for another great video also your father, since he worked his butt off. I think you gave out Bob Glidden's secret out with the special connecting rod, that's why his Ford dominated pro stock back in the day! Lol

That's good news lol, I love to see you guys getting together for a project and the game is on the radio. Don't get any better than that. Glad to see it alive again! Soon I will see it moving gravel and then snow. Hopefully you can get a farm going, would be the thing Dad needs to get more projects and room for them. Great weekend for you all.!!

Gotta have a welder(s) for keeping things movin'. I worked on a Allis Chalmers in Ag Mechanics when I was in high school. That was so long ago I forgot more than I learned.

Keep the content coming. Old cars, and old tractors go ha d in hand. There’s almost no old school gear head that doesn’t love old tractors too. I’d love to see a new javelin video too, I love that car

I'm probably your Dads age but growing up My Dad worked for the local Carthage Mo Buick /Allis dealership and i cant even remember how many of these old WDs Dad inframed i was grinding valves and seats by the age of 10 lol winter would roll around and i remember rows of wd45s sitting waiting on Dad to rebuild them of course times were different people fixed things rather than replaced like today

Looks good Jed. I don’t know what rebuild kit you an your dad picked up, but when I did a wd45 with my uncle years ago it told us to do a hot retorque on the cylinder head. Not sure why to be honest maybe it was something to do with the head gasket material but I am unsure. I wish you good luck on the crawler to can’t wait to see that moving along.

You can get sleeves for the crawler, I think the M sleeves work and give you on large overbore.
@ScottsSpeedShop3 жыл бұрын
Nobody makes a sleeve for that engine anymore, we checked and called around to the "experts" The closest sleeve and piston combo is from a John Deere 4020 gas engine, same wrist pin diameter, we would just have to do a little machine work to make the sleeves work

Those M&W add pwr pistons are getting scarce. Some reproductions of those in 8.5:1 would be awesome
@timatwell37283 жыл бұрын
Looking good guys how much difference is the sleeves / bore on the crawer and the tractor to bad not close enough that you could use those type in the crawer but keep at it , it's closer then you was . maybe check on a 2.4 or 2.5 from a 80s car Daytona , omni , k car or something along that line and put in if all else fails . js

Please ask your Dad to stop smoking It will not be good down the road just tellin' you
@ScottsSpeedShop3 жыл бұрын
Dad is his own man, and it is not my place to go that. If he wants to quit, he will quit on his own accord. One of my great grandparents smoked like a chimney and lived to be over 100 and died of natural causes. Smoking obviously isn't good, but I'll never judge or critic someone over it
