I am working on my 57 Bel Air and have used the side mount frame mount engine kit from Summit which moves the engine 3/4 of an inch foward so you can use factory side engine mounts., and that the factory HEI dist fits right in. You can move the rad to the front of the core support to the 6 cyl positition and all your components will clear. Using the long water pump and any 68 through 80 engine components and accessories. Also try using a 1964 to 1966 Chevelle booster to clear your vacume valve it fits great! My 57 now has a 1976 350 with a 350 turbo with power brakes and factory alt. I also used Chevelle exhaust manifolds that can also support the factory A/C compressor and power steering pump assembly. Im not bragging but its cheeper than buying after market and parts are everywhere. If you want part numbers i have them.

I do have the engine in now... I will say that the old 350 used the same HEI that this one will. Also the drive shaft and everything that I had before, is what I wanted to use so that I could not worry about Drive shaft size or anything else, needing to be changed. The front motor mounts are what was used originally in the V8 position and everything lined up. That video is next!
