First off, love how you review all products. This channel is such a great source of info for all levels of musicians. We see all this gear coming out, and are really interested, but too afraid to pull the trigger and spend our cash, without some trustworthy and honest reviews. And you deliver exactly that, along with a simplified overview, and the quick and easy setup and operation. So, from this guy to you, thanks Scott. And as far as the PTM - 33: This is exactly what I need to take my whole band from WIRED iem, to WIRELESS iem. "I Want All My Garmonbozia!"

You and your channel as a whole has been a blessing! Idk if it was luck that brought me to you considering that when I discovered your channel, I was worried I was in a niche situation with having a HX Stomp and using Logic for everything, I couldn't find many answers to A LOT of questions that I had to pursue for doing things like backing tracks and tone patch changes with my current gear. And now, I've seen every single one of your videos and love learning from you and your experiences! You also took the time to reply to a recent email of mine in a short time frame with a question I had only to find the solution in another one of your videos while also getting further insight from you. Don't stop what you're doing, you are helping the community a lot and we can't thank you enough! Fun fact too, I also live in Denver and took that as more of an odd incident that I had that lined up with you haha. So all things considered, "I Want All My Garmonbozia!"

5:39. Question..number one = can the body pack also turn up and down the volume ? 5:58 Question number 2 = if there are 4 pack for 4 in how does 6 musician come into the picture. With just 4 ? Is it that one has to place an order for two more packs like does the packs sold separately.. 6:42

@@ScottUhlMusic True, but I would be happy to pay for a 1U unit with 4 individual stereo receivers/mixes, good frequency range for each receiver, and frequency scanning. If Phenyx Pro could figure out how to mash 4 PTM-10A's into a 1U rack, I would be first in line. Rack space is precious.

THIS! Came across this unit hoping there would be someone to review it...lo and behold, the guy who helped me choose my wireless instrument (NUX 5.8Ghz wireless with that charging case). Losing the 4th channel is kind of a bummer, but may have to try this out with my band (Drummer, Bass, Rhythm guitar , Lead guitar, Keyboardists, 1 lead singer+4 background singers).... Gonna have to show this review to my band and cross my fingers and hope this is a route they would like to go with an upgrade path....like your drummer said "It's not perfect, but it's damn good." I used to have the PTM 22 and we had one pack that would consistently have the dropout issue your drummer described but I could not reproduce the problem for the life of me. Phenyx sent a replacement pack and we still had the same issue but again, I couldn't reproduce it when we were in a controlled setting. I even setup some white noise to go through the pack and get recorded by my DAW but we couldn't see any breaks in the transmission with hours of transmission. After a few months, the second channel started having the same problem and we couldn't continue to rely on the system. We eventually decided to upgrade to all Sennheiser and have never had any issues. I will say that Phenyx Audio support was pretty responsive and easy to work with during the process. I wish these units were just a little more reliable because they are an incredible price and so easy to use.
@ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 11 ай бұрын
You are likely playing in a very busy RF environment in that case. The PTM 10s have about double the bandwidth which is why I recommend that out of all of the PP systems. But the sennheiser will give you even more 💪

The most valuable information you give is how they perform live! I have multiple Sennheiser IEM systems and while I do love them, they are very complicated to use. Bottom line is that I want all my Garmonbozia to disappear when setting up my wireless. The most appealing part of this system is how easy it is to set up. It looks to be worth compromising some range to do that. Thank you for your great reviews and information Scott!

Thank you for this video! We were just discussing purchasing a couple of the PTM22 based off of your reviews.... and well now, this is a really cool option for us. We are just entering the world of wireless IEM's and have just rebuilt our stage rack/playback rig to move in this direction. We moved from an iPad with a small mixer running the original version with a splitter cable - one channel to our mixer for our drummer, the other to FOH and now we're using ST3 with an iPad with a PreSonus interface so that we can have multi track playback.... and thanks for helping push us in that direction too with your info! So anyway, this video gives us GREAT info and a very solid option to get us started! Ahhhh yes Fire Walk With Me! David Lynch! And he gave Rammstein a big break in that move too! Hey, Scott! Really enjoyed and appreciate the review. All the important stuff without a bunch of unnecessary fluff. That's how I try to do my reviews, and that's how I like to see em done, so kudos! I discovered Phenyx several months ago, and caught wind of this unit a few weeks back. It immediately had my interest, because after 3 years of trying (the event which shall not be named hindered the process significantly), I've finally found the right kind of people to pursue my small, local cover band. I've always had a passion for live performance, and covers are the easiest way to go about that where I am. Unfortunately though, like many musical ventures, the pay isn't great, so picking things out on a budget is huge. Additionally, most of the available places to play, don't supply you with a PA, so this means FOH, consoles and monitors are all on the band. I've no desire to lug monitors around, and I also had an experience several years ago where I had to play the harmonized Hotel California solo without a floor wedge, so I think wireless in-ears are going to be the way to go for us. I want all my Garmonbozia. I feel like the drawbacks of a budget unit like this one pale in comparison to the advantages you get with it, especially as a small local band playing bars and nightclubs. I'll take a few momentary dropouts over competing stage monitor mixes any day. But enough of that. Thanks again for the thorough review, and the opportunity to win the unit! Best of luck to everyone!

Scott, as Agent Cooper often said, "Every day, once a day, give yourself a present". Your reviews are like little presents, always entertaining and informative. Thanks for all that your do. These really help us guys like me (fun garage band with some old high school buddies) that are just getting into wireless and don't do this professionally and can't afford the "good stuff". Keep up the good work. I want all my garmonbozia! 😱 Got to go. Need some coffee and pie!☕🥧

Man, all of your videos are just great, definitely appreciate the time and care that goes into making them. Question about this system: If you had to chose a 4 channel system, would you use the PTM-33 or would you run 2x PTM-10's using the L/R stereo/mono trick? And if you chose the PTM-10 route, would you buy one in the 900mhz range and one in the 500mhz range or run them both off whichever range was better for your area?
@ScottUhlMusic
@ScottUhlMusic 6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I would absolutely do the 2 PTM 10s with the left right trick for sure! And the one in 900 and one in 500mhz would be the way I would go 👍

@@ScottUhlMusic Thank you so much. I appreciate your feedback. Every single working musician should watch your channel. Some of us are blessed to work with techs, and some of us have to become our own techs, but all of us should learn enough to know what's going on. Either to be able to run the show when needed, or more importantly to truly appreciate the work that the folks who dedicate their lives to supporting the show do for us!
