A Professor Of Music At Harvard University said that Elvis was such an Extremely Gifted Vocalist because he had Vocal Registers normally found only in Professionally, Voice Trained, Opera singers. He closed his article by saying that Elvis could hit Hi ''G '' Notes that would make a Baritone Opera Singer turn Green with Envy ! Consider the Following.: Elvis could and did Sing Bass, Baritone, 2nd Tenor and 1st Tenor. Also, Elvis successfully sang Rock N' Roll, Jazz, Country, Gospel, Broadway, Blues, And Rhythm and Blues. And Elvis is the only Performer in the History of Recorded Music that is a Member of Four Music Halls Of Fame ! Rock 'n Roll , R & B , Country and Gospel ! No One else In the History of Recording has ever come close to matching the Versatility, the Vocal Range, and the Number of records Sold of Elvis over 2.5 Billion Worldwide !

This is great! Two legends talking about and reminiscing about their incredible careers and about Elvis. Perkins always respected Elvis and knew he was the King even though he was a rival in the beginning. He was lucky that Elvis covered Blue Suede Shoes which probably made him some good royalties because it was a million seller!
@mikefule5 жыл бұрын
It was a million seller for Carl Perkins in his own right. Most people who aren't fans probably think of it as an Elvis song, but Carl had a massive hit with it. He was selling 20,000 copies a day and was number 1 on the Memphis charts for 3 months. Of course, since then, it's become a standard and almost everyone in rock and roll has had a go at it, and it is referenced in other songs too. Ask 100 non-fans to name 10 rock and roll songs and nearly all of them will include this song in the list. Ask 100 non-fans to describe Elvis, and half of them will think of him late in his career, overweight, wearing jumpsuit and sideburns. In my book, that means Carl left the greater legacy, even though he is less well known.
@margarettaylor81073 жыл бұрын
@@mikefule Untrue.Elvis has millions of fans that Carl lacks.The idiots who only describe him your way, less than one percentof Elvis life, are ignorant Carl is a great guy but he lacks everything Elvis had in a stage performace and lacks the ability to interpret a song and those golden vocals Elvis had..Ask the average guy what do you think of Carl? They will respond Carl who.Ask that about Elvis.There is only one Elvis They know him by Elvis worldwide.
@kurthenze29003 жыл бұрын
@@margarettaylor8107 Carl's guitar, music and song writing style influenced the Beatles more than Elvis. Musicians in the know, knew about Carl Perkins. Even though the general public did not. I'll go out on a limb and say with confidence, your probably not a musician, just a fan with a pompous opinion.
@margarettaylor81073 жыл бұрын
@@kurthenze2900 I really like Carl as a human being.Of course he was a great song writer.Elvis had the golden voice and the passion Carl sang well but he did not have the panache of Elvis.Carl was a very humble guy who did not trash other entertainers.He himself thought Elvis was the King. I do not think Elvis would have ever trashed Carl either.They were friends and respected each other's talents.
@Playbyplaymedia2 жыл бұрын
@@mikefule To leave out the automobile accident Carl Perkins and his brothers experienced on the way to The Perry Como Show does a disservice. Elvis' cover of "Blue Suede Shoes" was probably a "win-win" decision for both artists, given the need for Carl Perkins to recover following the accident. Carl Perkins was a great man and gifted musician.

Great video, it must be very awkward when one of these music greats are interviewed and most of the questions are about elvis. I saw a perkins interview where 3 out of 3 people who phoned in asked questions about Elvis, was there any rivalry, what was it like touring with Elvis or recording in the same studio as Elvis. Hell, I've seen Little Richard and Other people who were great being asked a barrage of questions about Elvis

"a documentary was produced about he, Elvis and Bill," should be: "a documentary was produced about him, Elvis and Bill," because you wouldn't say - "a documentary was produced about HE," you would say - "about HIM." The same mistake is made later: "Scotty though had a copy of the info-mercial and has made the parts with he and Carl available to his fans," should be "has made the parts with him and Carl available," because it isn't correct English to say: "has made the parts with HE and Carl available." Correct English is: "the parts with HIM and Carl." You would never say, "a film was made about HE" or "the part with HE," you would say "about HIM." That's how you know the correct way - you eliminate ate second part.

Incredible that Col. Tom Parker, a Dutch illegal immigrant who worked his passage to America then jumped ship with no passport wrangled Elvis's contract by getting business partner Hank Snow to come with him to Memphis to get Elvis's parents to sign. Elvis's mother was a Hank Snow fan the Colonel found out. A true swindler but Elvis didn't care cos Tom Parker made him rich and Elvis made Parker rich! Scotty should have talked about Parker talking Elvis into sacking him, Bill Black bassist and D.J. Fontana drummer.

Elvis is still ALIVE !! That was NOT Elvis in that casket ! It was a Wax Dummy ! That is what was in the 900 lb Copper Casket along with a portable cooling unit to keep the Wax from melting.Everyone that observed the '' body '' in the coffin noticed that the forehead had '' beads of moisture ''. Gene Smith, Elvis's 1st cousin, said that the Sideburns had been glued on and kept coming loose! Gene also stated that one could feel the ''chilled air'' all around the casket that was coming from a cooling unit within the coffin. When Gene asked Vernon where Elvis was , Vernon replied , '' He's safe, Don't worry ,He's Upstairs resting. We had to put something on display for the fans ! '' ELVIS did NOT Die on August 16, 1977 ! NO ONE is actually buried there at the Meditation Garden in back of the Mansion. Only the top layer of sod was removed for the placement of the Bronze Memorial plaques ! Those are just there for the Fans and the Tourists. All of Elvis' family members that have done passed on are buried somewhere else in a undisclosed Private Cemetery and ELVIS IS Very Much STILL ALIVE ! He never really stopped making his music ! He has been recording and making music all this time . He just can''t release any of his songs using his real name anymore because of EPE,Inc. He has been using different alias ever since.Elvis Aron Presley is sometimes Jon Burrows and several other various ''alias''. He staged and faked his death with the help and knowledge of Col. Tom Parker, Dr. '' Nick '' , Joe Esposito , and the FBI by doing a '' Body Swap '' with a Terminal Bone Cancer patient Roscoe Scott Holloway of Germantown, TN of whom Dr. Nichopolous had located. After some minor cosmetic surgery they made Roscoe Scott Holloway look like Elvis, a ''double'' which fooled the Paramedics , the hospital personnel and most family members. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, was a U.S. Special Federal Agent that worked undercover in various '' sting operations '' against known members of the SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group. The SDS Weather Underground Terrorist Group was responsible for numerous multiple bombings of Police Departments , Federal and State Court Houses and other public buildings during the 1960's and 1970's. Charles William ''Bill'' Ayers was the SDS Leader of the Weather Terrorist Group, along with his cohort Bernardine Rae Dohrn, was a personal friend and Mentor to a one Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama and it was the SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group that put Barry Soetoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama into Politics and made him the Socialist Thug that he is and a threat to the American way of life as we know it. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, the name he used working for the DEA and later for the FBI as a Special Federal Agent, was appointed by the former late President Richard M. Nixon and Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, worked as a Federal Agent from December 1970 until his official retirement in December 2004. In September 1978 , Elvis, aka Federal Agent Jon Burrows was the Government's '' Secret Witness '' in '' Operation Fountain Pen '' and He testified in Federal Court against a well known member of the Mafia Organized Crime Syndicate, a one Fredrick Peter Pro of the '' Fraternity '' In September 1977, Elvis, aka Federal Agent Jon Burrows, entered the Federal Witness Protection program where he stayed until July 1978. Then Agent Jon Burrows, aka Elvis, returned to Washington D.C. where he worked for the DEA and then later for the FBI Counter Intelligence Branch until his official Retirement in December 2004, and ending 34 years of dedicated Federal Service. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows was in the Federal Witness Protection program because of past threats made by members of the SDS Weathermen Underground Terrorist Group, Bill Ayers and past threats by certain key members of the Mafia Organized Crime Syndicate, of which Agent Burrows, aka Elvis took part in various undercover '' sting operations '' to indict and bring them to Justice. All these facts are told in a documentary interview that Elvis aka Jon Burrows, gave, recorded and released on a DVD in January 2012. Elvis, aka Jon Burrows, also recorded and released a brand new CD of 15 songs in January of 2012. Both have been voice printed and authenticated 100 % as the voice of Elvis Aron Presley by Computer Voice Analysts Technicians. Besides being a U.S. Federal Agent with the DEA and then later with the FBI , as appointed by the late former POTUS Richard M. Nixon on December 21, 1970 , Elvis was also a Bonded, Certified & Trained Deputy Sheriff with the Shelby County Sheriff's Dept. Memphis,TN, since September 23, 1964 and Chief Deputy since October 10, 1970 with Shelby County Sheriff's Dept .Elvis was also a Reserve Police Captain in the Memphis PD , a Reserve Police Captain with Denver PD and a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the LA County Sheriff's Dept. He was nominated as One of the Top 10 Young Men in America by the American Jaycees on January 16, 1971, not for his work as a Entertainer, but for his dedication and work in Law Enforcement !! A Fulton County Deputy Sheriff , GA , was on location at a very well known Underground Wax Museum in Atlanta, Georgia on the week they were closing. Vernon Presley and a couple of the guys that work for Elvis came in and bought a lifelike life sized wax figure of Elvis, because it was all being auctioned off.They made the purchase and on the way out the door, Vernon Presley turned to the guy at the museum counter and said, " Just Wait 'til you guys see what we're going to do with this " ! AND this Is the TRUTH as told by Elvis himself !!! Elvis Presley Is Alive !!!

We had such a shitty record player, but still, it sounded very wonderful to us. I'm talking about the 50s in case anybody missed that. Scotty's guitar had an unbelievable sound that I can only compare to (and it's a different sound, but just as distinctive) Brian Setzer's Gretsch. All the other guitars are just meh. Even Les Paul's.
