I own a 2023 TLX type-S and have loved it. There’s some monkey motion you have to go through to turn auto stop start off and traction control when you don’t want it but if you don’t want to save gas and leave it in sport mode all the time, it’s really just a great car over all. Straight line acceleration is pretty good, not amazing. Handing, however is a dream. hugs curves so effortlessly and smoothly.

Up here in Canada, we simply cannot buy new Toyotas, Toyota has stopped selling NEW vehicles in the Canadian market for some odd reason. They are only allocating 1/10 as many Corollas/RAV4s/Camrys as they used to before 2020. If you decide to place an order for a Corolla, they simply put your name on a list and when your name comes up you get to choose which of the 3 or 4 Corollas that came on that recent truck; no choosing color or anything, just take it or leave it. Most people are abandoning all hope of getting a Toyota and instead are going to Honda, Mazda, or Subaru for their next vehicle, in the color that they want, with the options (or lack of added-on options) that they want.

This is also the case here in the US too, at least the dealers around me. You cannot customize the you are are buying anymore. You can build the spec and give it to the dealer so they can notify you when something similar comes in, but Toyota is not accepting custom orders or sending cars you want to the dealers. You get what they allocate. It can be exactly what you order (to your dealer), pretty close, or nothing close at all. I understand the demand is high, that's why they stop taking orders and produce what the hell ever they want then people who want it will have to chase down the car they are looking for by themselves.However, this is very frustrating especially hard to hunt down models like Prius, Prius Prime, and GR86.

My torque converter failed on me on my 21 Acura TLX type s. And it only had 63k miles on it. The last person that serviced it replaced the transmission filter and fluid, coolant, and front/rear differential and not sure if it had something else I do with that. But at least it is getting covered with warranty and I have a loaner.

For the spare tire, there is an official OEM kit now that Acura sells due to customer complaints. IIRC there’s one specific to the Type-S because there’s an additional bracket needed because of the type-S’ battery.

Thought you didn't like GDI or a turbo when it was in a Jeyundai. My 2016 Sonata has every feature this car has except the satellite view, for 60 percent of this price. My engine is at 157K miles and no problems, doesn't consume oil, quiet and smooth.

Sedans are the only car I am planning on buying in the future. Higher MPG, more reliable, cheaper to but, cheaper to own, cheaper to repair, cheaper to maintain. Many sedans don't have THAT much less cargo space than a hatchback. I would personally want a sedan that can occasionally tow a small moving trailer, but meh, I can always just rent a truck.

A hatchback is not at all like a SUV, even the Corolla Cross has like 70 CuFt compared to 20. I really do not see the point of paying so much more for a RAV4 which is only slightly bigger then a Corolla Cross. I rent a truck about once or twice a year.

I was in the market for a new vehicle up here in New Hampshire, and was looking at this, integra type s, Colorado bison, tacoma trd, and ranger raptor. I already had my audi a5 low profile tire experience almost 10 years ago, and living with potholes and cracks, I went through 7 tires at $330 a piece, so the acuras were out of the picture. I wanted a fun vehicle, and never had an "enthusiast" vehicle, so I ordered a shelter green Ranger Raptor. About the same price as this, but I don't have to run the "pothole slalom," and room for family needs. Can't wait to pick it up.

All these new cars get terrible mpg. I strongly believe it's because they're mostly all little 4cyl boosted turbos fighting for their lives... Example - 2022 ecoboost Mustang me and my wife rented last summer was getting 200-225 per full tank if you got on it, at all... Our old 96 gt and 07 gts get 100 miles per tank better than that, and they're both n/a V8s.

I perfer sedans much more than SUVs. We only have a 21 CRV because of our family needs, otherwise a sedan would be in the driveway. I have a 16 Honda civic until my Ranger Raptor, which is currently in production the past week and a half, is delivered. I can't wait

@@ikigai47 I'm not going to be racing anyone. I'm more than happy with the 0 - 60 in 4.5 seconds. The handling is outstanding, the car is extremely comfortable, the LKAS and ACC make it effortless to drive, and I'll take Acura reliability over that of a German car any day of the week.

@@johnjorgensen6882 To be fair it's supposedly 5.1 (0-60) if you're asking motortrend. But yeah you're right, whatever you're happy with is the best car, and I agree reliability beats shaving a 1/2 second off a 0-60 time for non track use

Currently as of 2024, Mazda is at the top of its game when it comes to style, reliability, and price. I have a 18 Mazi 3 hatchback GT and this car has a nice sporty racecar design with Skyactiv technology that no other car brand have come up with. Cylinder deactivation when you are trying easy and yet still retain power. Going hybrid would take away power. Cylinder deactivation is the way to good with only 2 pistons running and 2 pistons resting.

Cylinder deactivation is moronic and Skyactiv just increases the pressure which wears out the engine more. You have a lot of learning to do.

The only thing I do not like about the TLX is that the rear seat is useless. It is basically a 4-door, 2 seater which makes absolutely no sense.

We had a 2007 TLS. It was great. It was pleasing to drive. Nice power and handling. But I felt the quality after about 3 years start deteriorating. A few minor things nonetheless for the money paid it didn’t please me. I thought Honda at that time was more superior in quality to it. Admittedly it may have all changed in the last 17 years. But for the cost I’ll go with a comparable Honda model.

I have one and it’s a lot better than you might think when you get used to how it works. It’s not a touchscreen so you treat it more like just a display. There aren’t a lot of onscreen menus because it’s very straight forward and to the point… audio, radio, maps, car settings. That’s it. Climate control, driving mode etc are all physical buttons so they don’t clutter up the screen. It’s driver focused rather than tech focused.

I bought a brand new Tacoma cost me nearly $50,000 then 2 years later paints start peeling and the Toyota dealer said because it’s 32,000 miles already expire for warranty. What a jack ups! I am still piss till now because they won’t do anything about it. I say, screw Toyota. It’s all about Chevy and ford now.

Scotty. Sir. We have a 2010 Ford Escape. The windshield wipers are going bad. The connection points are NOT standard. The arm ends are not the usual curved 180° bent end. They attach in a wierd way. I can't find these in the regular stores. Is the dealership the only answer? Thank You, Sir.

Why should I buy a gas car anymore at 55k since it cost a lot to in gas, oil, spare parts, the engine is fu..ing complicated, the gearbor is even worse, it makes noise, vibrates, when I can have a more silent, more confortable, more powerfull, more reliable, and much cheaper car to use. This why I have only EV for daily use. Only my old collectible cars are still gas powered.

I would put my `12' Altima up against that car you reviewed any day of the week. My car cost a lot less than that car and most likely just as good. The CVT in my car is the original and will be entering its 14th year on the road in early December. So much for unreliable Nissan CVT's which in my experience is a lot of crap.

The dct was only used with N/A k24s and made like 180 lb-ft so the clutches probably werent designed to handle double that.
