Bought a 2006 Scion tC with 170k. The alignment was off and the engine had a horrible ticking noise. The car was all stock. I drove it from San Diego to Michigan; Michigan to Virginia; Virginia to Chicago; and Chicago to Colorado. Absolute beast of a car. Super reliable. I sold it and bought a Veloster, sold the veloster and now I have a 2008 tC. Absolutely love this car.

@@kurtwallrath1436 I had a base model 2012 veloster. The cosmetics were super cool. The red leather bucket seats, the sporty design of the interior, the 17” alloy rims, she looked mean and ready to gap mustangs. Wrong. The non turbo base model has a 6 speed manual transmission with a whopping 120 HP. Talk about slow. Plus the GDI engine needs more maintenance than just a simple oil change, something I didn’t know about. The base model veloster I had was all bark no bite. I’ve heard the turbo ones had a lot of problems once you get passed the 100k mark.

As long as you make sure those Scions don't have the low profile tires on them; they really affect the car's handling. I owned a rebuilt 2008 Scion TC. Two different teenagers had put it in a ditch before I bought it. Scions also have a very high Deaths per Million rate. Mine still ran like a top when I sold it at 168,000 miles for $1475 two years ago.

Definitely fixable but made me wish I never bought one when I had to replace the clutch master cylinder on mine. PITA to get under the dash just to take it out and it's hiding in a tight corner in the engine bay. True statement about easy to learn manual in this car. Taught my mom how to drive it in 2 minutes and she swore up and down that she never would learn how to drive manual because her first experience was in a 70s Chevy. My tire pressure monitor was doing the same thing. Unless it's truly out you can reset it by holding down the button hidden in the passenger glove box for about 10 seconds and the light should go off. I bought my 06 tC with 40k miles on it back in 2018 and it's clean inside and out.

Bought my 2010 tc about 3 or 4 years ago with 45k miles. I've put 40k miles on it since and its running alright. Overall the car has a lot of cabin noise, not the best build quality of course, but the engine is running good with 85k miles on it. I change the oil every 3k miles, never had any leaks. Only big repair I've had recently was shocks, springs, and linkages. And that only because I broke the left side ones on a huge pot hole, so I replaced all of it new on the front, and now it's driving great again.
