Doesn't matter if the AC is set to warm or cold.. I have proven this in all 4 of cars in the past, as long as you have the actual AC on.. not just air flow. The temp is only relevant if you're doing it in winter ... But as I said, both temps will work.

I spent 2 summers in Vegas without AC in a 2001 4 door blazer with only single climate control in the front and the compressor went out was $1,600 for a new one not including labor to install and we ended up selling it for $600 they drove it 2 weeks before it blew up. My mom was on disability and we just couldn't afford to maintain it and she never told me how much maintenance it needed beyond oil changes and I did that, but I didn't know there was more than that until I bought my own vehicle several years later. I wouldn't recommend driving without AC to anyone unless you live in a place like California. I dreaded having to go anywhere at anytime except the winter because the heater worked but it would feel like you were melting anytime you had to stop at a light and while you were moving it just felt like a hot blow drier it was awful I will never buy a vehicle without working AC because of that experience.

Another trick you can do if your windows are fogging up is you take an old sock, fill it up with cat litter ,seal it with a duct tape or something like that and just throw it under a seat or on a dash if you don't mind looking at it and people asking questions. It will slowly absorb excess humidity in your car and prevent the condensation on your windows so they will stop fogging up. 👍

One thing I found out a few years ago is that if the control is set to recirculate the air, all of the windows except the windshield and part of the front side windows will be the only ones that do not fog up. That is because the moisture in your breath will be trapped inside the car and all the windows the defroster is not blowing directly on will condense your breath moisture on them. Once I figured that out and took the control off recirculate, the moisture was slowly blown out the exhaust vents and all of the other windows started to clear up.

Scotty Heat Pumps aren’t that complex. Instead of the engine powering the AC compressor it’s a DC motor via the battery pack. During normal AC, it blows cold air inside (captures heat) and spits it out via the radiator. For heating, there’s a reversing valve and reverses the flow of refrigerant.
@L0n3W0lfBl4ck9 күн бұрын
Before watching, the fan speed is set too low. You need air movement to keep it clear. I see so many people crank the heat to max and the turn the fan all the way down, and wonder why it’s fogging up. Turn the fan up to half or higher and adjust the temp to whatever is comfortable, and split it to windshield and floor. You’ll stay comfy and the windows will stay clear. Edit: if you got too much moister in the cabin turn on you A/C it won’t cool if the temp is set to warm and it will help dry the air.

Is it hard on the AC when defrost turns it on just to defrost the windows and one changes the settings after the windows are clear and so the Ac is back off again? I mean running the AC for a minute or so and back off seems to be a bad idea. Some people seldom use the AC and I heard it should be ran from time to time even in winter because the Ac unit is self lubricating and so needs to be ran every so often for a few minutes. I've also heard not to run the AC until the car is fully warmed up for a few minutes but these new cars turn on the AC as soon as you use the defrost when needed. I heard that these new cars (heating and AC units) control the humidity in the car now too.
