Had good luck with Marvel Mystery Oil. I run it in the oil for 3000 miles. It's not instant, but over time, it seems to work, judging from dropping the oil pan and looking before and after. Sea Foam or Chem Tool added to the oil probably would work, if you needed it cleaned quickly.

A lift doesn't qualify you anymore to be a mechanic, like an education towards a ANY job you apply for. Experience is the only thing this world will teach you & there is no value on that. If you feel the need to troll, why don't you get a job & make a KZbin Channel about it, so I can troll you about how you are broke & don't know how to manage your finances: a simple course they teach in high school that 90% of Americans feel they have no control over

I Love this video! It definitely proves it cleaned out a tonne of gunk. That said i would love to see a before and after Engine boroscope comparison like has been done on other channels. The best part was they went so far as to buy a bunch of the product they found worked great and send it to a bunch of different subscribers for them to test and send back results. I love that approach. Thing is the method he used to do it is tricky if you aren't a mechanic. They have a different application method but i dont know how well it works since it was never tested. I like this stuff but i can't find it to buy it here😢

Scotty made a video dated Aug 17,2018. he said to NEVER flush the engine oil. First, modern detergent oil keeps the engine clean enough. Second if there is any sludge broken loose it can clog oil galley holes that can destroy the engine. He gave an example of a Toyota with VVT running poorly after a flush clogged the solenoids. Also the oil seals can start to leak. So what is it ? Flush the oil or not ?

I love this car so much, this car has witnessed all my ups and down and I want to kip it forever in a good condition, but bringing it to the mechanic sometimes it cost more money and time. And then I have seen your videos and gives me more information that is very educational and applicable to the current situation of our car. Used the oil treatment for an oil flush. 2014 F150 coyote engine 90k mi. Ran the idle at 2500 for 15 mins. Pistons did do some knocking. Didn't see much in the oil draining as far as really black or having particulates. Currently running some Kirkland synthetic in it and will drain it at about 500 mi. I did pour two cans of the gas treatment into the fuel tank on yesterday's fill up with 87. Tank holds 26 gals. I was getting like 13.8 around town before putting this in the tank. Haven't driven it much since then but fuel mileage monitor looks to be saying I'm getting over 17.5 with this stuff in the tank. A little too soon to tell and keep in mind I used two cans. I will post again in a couple weeks with an update.

I ran a oil cleaner through my old car which had a timing chain, and afterwards it loosened so much carbon and build up, and the timing chain actually got very noisy, due to thr carbon and sludge buildup being remove (which was obviously dampening the timing chain noise).

@@timnz009 Yes and that's when you go with a thicker oil, the max your car is aloud to take! For example, BMW's are mostly 5w-30 but the max it can take and this is a must if you have a sport BMW is 5w-40 no more than that, it's a healthy thickness for them engine design!

That's the FSI BPY timing belt engine. That was before the TFSI CCTA chain engine you are talking about. It does have a small chain in the back that connects the cams only but not the cam to crank. Those usually failed after 140k range. This engine had a lot of bulletins, recalls, and campaigns relating to oil consumption and noise. Scotty has no idea about German cars and should stick to the Asian market which he knows.

Hi Scotty, good job with the car. I have the same car and I must to say that it's noisy too... When I change for my self the oil and the filter it makes less noise during about 1.500 miles. After that, the car pump up the engine volume... My car car has 110.000 miles and one thing I don't like it's the engine sound. In spite of that it's a good looking car, I love the handling and "power" for the price. Great videos

Scotty - I have solved the oil burning issue on the volvo SI6 engines (two of them). I added Techron to the engine oil for about 8K miles (2 oil changes). Both went from using 2-3 quarts between oil changes to using less than 1/2 a quart between changes. One car was purchased with 131K miles and the other was around 100K. I have gotten in the habit of adding any gas treatment that is heavy in PEA to the oil every 3rd or 4th oil change. So far so good. I do not have an oil burner in the stable now; other than 3 diesels :)

I hear such bad things about Hyundai's that I wonder if we just got lucky twice. The noise that you hear could be the direct port injectors. Might be chain rattle however to remove the carbon on the valves you would have to remove the intake manifold and walnut blast the valves. As far as the smell from the exhaust could be due to the cattless downpipe

I just poured in CRO-505 into a 2005 Mini Cooper with 87k miles. Previously had pretty rough startup, loud rattling. Took about 6 1/2 turns to start. Just before the job I was in Drive at the bottom of an ordinary steep hill in San Francisco, it did not even move. I was on full gas full throttle to the floor, didn't budge. Literally at a standstill. After I put this stuff in and new oil, man it started no problem. Put the CRF in, did an italian tune up for 30 minutes at 90. I went to the same spot on the hill, it definitely went up in Drive I can tell you that, probably added about 50-60 horsepower maybe more. Next I'm trying it in my 2002 H6 Outback, 315k miles

Suffers from the typical lifter ticking noise. I was wondering what you would recommend for an oil additive or treatment. A mechanic suggested a concentrate a couple days ago DTTF or something which contains stuff to protect machined bits that newer motors don't require. Also, Lucasoil etc. I don't want to do more harm than good as it still runs so reliably. I only use it in warmer months for camping etc. I'd appreciate your advice.
