Too many of Steelers fans have become preoccupied with T.J. getting sacks. How many runs have been successful to his side? Most games they don't even try. He's doing his job very well. Don't lose sight of the big picture over individual achievements.

You are absolutely correct, I found myself almost as upset that Garrett had a better day than TJ as I was with the overall outcome
@ronaldmckee75423 күн бұрын
If the field isn't a mess, I don't think Winston gets away from the sacks on a few of those fourth down plays. The defense really couldn't change direction while pursuing the quarterback. Also Herbig was blatantly held on his touchdown run on 4th down saving him from a sack once again.
@loulou-g3u2 күн бұрын
I'm pretty sure at this point, every team is going to try to take away the deep pass and give them anything intermediate. Wilson either can't or doesn't want to throw to the middle of the field and their receivers don't get enough separation to get quick strikes on short routes. It's a problem.
@andref96633 күн бұрын
This was the game to go heavy play action and let Russ pass the ball more. It wasn’t boom or bust, it was asking Russ to bail the team out on 3rd down with no push in the run game on 1st and 2nd.
@alexm28892 күн бұрын
This is Tomlin's basic understanding of football at work. Run the ball regardless of what you're seeing. There's no strategy, no taking what the defense gives you, no adjustments. Just bang your head against that wall until you're barely ahead against a crap opponent and praying for TJ to bail you out.
@garretalston15363 күн бұрын
I'll be impressed by the "Clowns" if they come into Pittsburgh in two weeks and win that game. I knew this one would probably be a loss because of the circumstances, short week, team with absolutely nothing to lose, division rival and then the typical lake effect snow storm to complete the deal...

This makes Cincinnati a must win. Whereas before we thought we’d scrape by the Browns, then get a mini bye and see how the league shakes out while we’re in the driver’s seat for the one seed. Then the Bengals, who are elite offensively, may get one one you but you say, hey, we just won five in a row. We just wanted to split with them. Now the next Cleveland game becomes a must win too. Now because Arthur Smith can’t call plays when it matters and Mike Tomlin doesn’t understand penalties and timeouts, I think I speak for every single person here when I say we’re all very frightened off the wheels coming off.

Yeah the WAY we lost shows how fragile the whole thing is. The skill is there, the coaching is not.
@ChrisArkwright2 күн бұрын
Coming off? They are off. If Tomlin can't figure out how to make better decisions in tough situations by this time in his career, he never will. That game was a coaching loss 100%. Can't count on the coaches to get us through a wildcard game.
@sonsofliberty30813 күн бұрын
This game wouldn't have been even close if they'd have called all of those dpi for pickens. Or if Tomlin doesn't get stubborn and keep putting the defense in a short field. If they'd have punted and pinned them deep with all of the 0-10 on 3rd down. Pittsburgh would have had the short field. It would have killed their momentum.

Connor is not a good fit for this offense. and the fact 88 can't block a HS player is a problem since he signed a high priced contract. you would expect more from a 6'5 250 lb TE in the blocking. we should draft a new one. keep 80 tho. also a stud true NT this years draft would be great.

For me, my frustration didn't come from this singular individual game. It's the NFL and stuff like this happens. My issue is that this has been a trend under this particular head coach positioning in in January. This team has only won a playoff game in four of the 17 complete seasons Mike Tomlin has been the head coach. Not maximizing their seeding is part of the reason why. This is not me calling for the man's job. You don't win 63 percent of your games in the NFL by being a bad coach, but I think people who are frustrated are more than valid in those feelings when you take a step back and look at the totality of this thing from a wider angle. It's not about last Thursday, it's about what last Thursday has represented over the last 15 plus years.

Matt what are the OL coaches doing with these guys?? Are they teaching them anything?? The left side of the line, both Dan Moore Jr and Isaac Seamalu were putrid, they couldn’t block anyone. When is Fautanu going to be ready to start at LEFT tackle, yes you heard that correct. Isaac needs a kick in the can to wake up, Zack Frazier was solid and missed Myles Garrett right up the A gap, he needed to slide his feet and engage. Mason McCormick missed a few blocks as well completely missing and not picking the twists by Browns D-line. Broderick Jones actually had a decent to solid game. The OL coaching and Arthur Smith thinking this OL is better than how they are performing is a major problem
