Honestly Stormtrooper variants are always fun. When that Flame Trooper showed up in The mandalorian Ep. 8, a bunch of people lit up because of recognition. same with Biker Troops. Ezra even preferred a Scout Helm in Rebels.

I do think scout troopers are superior to storm troopers. For only one reason. A scout trooper back hands Han Solo in RotJ and sends Han to the ground. That’s always been pretty dope. Plus I liked how they looked more than stormtroopers. I’m glad you got everything I could think of when it comes to information about them I wished we got to see them in sniper roles more often And that the empire in general wasn’t just a big joke. Like haha storm troopers miss, but then in the mandalorian scout troopers who should be expert marksmen can even shoot a simple object five feet away. It greatly irritates me that in the OT and in Battlefront 2 (not the shitty Battle front 4 from ea. [ I’m calling it four because saying two then having to specify a date is retarded and was probably EA trying to make their games better marketing wise]) the Empire and all it’s troopers are fearsome monsters but then in Rebels and Mando they get tossed around thrown about and treated as incompetent. Especially in rebels. It really makes the empire seem unthreatening and really raises the question if a five man crew can do this, why doesn’t the Galaxy just get rid of the empire? They never bring up the fact outer ring trooper were shoddily trained because outer rim academies are less funded and less respected. In mando it’s a bit more passable, but it’s still goofy they can shoot the ever living hell out of Jinn and can’t land a hit on anyone else. Like it’s sad that the storm troopers aren’t just a pop culture joke but an in cannon joke aswell. That’s what the imperial ground army was suppose to be for. Sorry. This subject gets me worked up.

Yeah, because regular stormtrooper armor was great at stopping things like blaster bolts, rocks dropped by teddy bears, knives made from flint and were especially good at stopping pointy sticks. Those stormtroopers would have been screwed without that high tech armor. As a side note, anybody ever play the old MMORPG Star Wars Galaxies? I can remember seeing my first stormtrooper and thinking "Alright! I'm gonna get me some XP!" Nope. They were cannon fodder in the films. In that game they were the soldiers they were supposed to be.

Lil Beanz The prefix for Scout Trooper’s TKID. In A New Hope, you hear a stormtrooper near the Falcon referred to as TK-421. The real-world organization, the 501st Legion, adapted this piece of canon and invented prefixes for all the costumes of their membership. Scout troopers are “TB-#####.” For instance, I am approved as TB-14056. I’m also TR-14056 (Royal Guard), TK-14056 (ANH Stormtrooper [Stunt]), and BH-14056 (Boba Fett).

Val in Solo movie uses a holdout blaster 1:29 (looks same model) against the viper droids on the bridge...maybe they were used across the ranks, or were surplus stock? She had it with her on Mimban as well as Vandor...maybe it was sturdy, for mud and wet and snow too..sounds like decent weapon for its size!

I really hate how over time the Stormtroopers seem to have become less elite ideological soldiers and just became a group in fancy armour used for everything from traffic cops to security guards.

Unfortunately, writers over time have devolved them into cannon fodder who end up as patrol cops and assisting customs agents and so have lost the fear of being an elite force you should be scared to encounter. Apparently even the barely seen Imperial army is taken over by these Stormtroopers, such a waste.

Yes, the ROTJ helmets flip up. George Lucas got tired of extras taking their stormtrooper buckets off, as it would delay the production schedule, so he specifically asked that scout helmets be able to open to save time.
