I think this video made the council look more ruthless than the article. If I remember correctly, the council was also concerned that the Singularity had made this same deal to Foundations in other realities. In essence, a vote for No was hoping that no Foundation out of an infinite number of them would vote Yes and destroy *_our_* reality. It was basically guaranteed that a Foundation somewhere was going to vote Yes, so it might as well be us; there really wasn't much choice in the matter.

I immediately knew what des et meant when he said one day a catastrophic event would destroy our reality. Since he meant all other PARRALLEL universes it would mean that there are other desmets in other universes who are also opting to THIER O5 council to destroy all OTHER realities. In other words then another desmet would destroy OUR universe.
