SCP-1313 is an anomalous series of logical processes, capable of being defined as a mathematical equation to which the answer is a single female specimen of Ursus arctos. The equation itself does not appear to be inherently anomalous, but rather a quirk of mathematics - rather than producing any number in R\A (the set of all real numbers that are not animals), SCP 1313 resolves to produce a tangible, adult, and frequently enraged grizzly bear. The resolution does not have to be physically represented, and simply considering the problem long enough to arrive at the solution has resulted in a bear's manifestation in or around the subject solving it.
SCP1313 does not require any particular mathematical ability to comprehend, beyond a basic understanding of elementary algebra, but all steps of the sequence must be completed in order to reach the correct answer. Skipping parts of the process or attempting to start midway through will not result in any anomalous effects, and will likely produce a purely mundane result.
Currently, examination of partial components of SCP-1313 has revealed the following information about the anomaly:
That SCP-1313 itself conforms to all axioms used in current number theory (although at times has proven to be remarkably stubborn).
That bears cannot be returned to numerical form simply by solving the equation's inverse, pending the invention of a method of applying mathematical operations to physical objects.
That SCP-1313 can be used as an element of other equations to produce semi-anomalous results. For example, √SCP-1313 resolves to the square root of a live grizzly bear - likewise, SCP-13132 is the product of two live grizzly bears multiplied together. It is not recommended that such 'derivative' equations be solved, as the creatures produced are usually poorly integrated into our reality, and invariably extremely hostile during their brief periods of existence.
That grizzly bears exist within the set of all real numbers, and are not prime. The square root of a grizzly bear is prime, however, and is the only prime number that a) is not a cardinal number, b) is neither even nor odd, and c) contains an animal component.

As an Example, Obama had a 100 page biography in the history books before his term had even finished... and needless to say, it was all propaganda. Math books are rarely completely checked for accuracy; Then there's the tidbit that textbooks are a for-profit industry that produces multiple copies per year that are then mandated to be in schools...

That's an opened portal of summoning bears through the use of mathematical structures that are druidic in nature and effects. Some mathematician really understood how "everything is math" regarding bears and amplified a druidic hypothesis in order to create a living theorem of morphing. Also @ Woziduran, as an obod member who goes to a uni with a lot of math people, your explanation is a perfectly scientifically sound explanation of the anomaly. From my experience, spells act both like a circuit and a chemical reaction and functions as a command to the code system of Earth. All true spells are memetic because in-order to perceive it, you must allow that image of the spell inside of you, and that's when the first incantation is done without people realizing.

"SCIENCE IS THE WAY OF SCIENTIFICALLY CONDUCTING EXPERIMENTS" is like the first thing I learned in university. So technically, if I apply the scientific methods I learned in school to experiment on spells, that would make spells "science" technically. Science is only what we have compiled, categorized, and verified. Nothing more than that. I hate people who see the word "pseudoscience" and instantly turns away because as a GEOLOGIST, up to like 2 academic generations ago, MY FIELD OF STUDY WAS CONSIDERED A PSEUDOSCIENCE. The theory of plate tectonics was still a hypothesis when my professor's professor learned about it. That's how new a lot of things are with what we consider "actual science" today. Someone had to dedicate all their time and effort proving this one hypothesis of many, but no one would have made the effort to confirm it back then if people just labeled it a pseudoscience like today.

Except no. Dr. Bob recently seems to have developed a really garbage habit of taking these SCP entries and turning them into something that is closer to a fanfic than a proper retelling. In the ACTUAL OG version of SCP 1313 no one "turns into a bear" from being around the equation. The equation itself, when solved, results in a bear manifesting from nowhere.

If they were just looking at the book again, I'd agree, but I think the point of the third scene was to show that, unlike some SCPs, the medium doesn't change anything. It isn't limited to simply looking at the physical equation in person (aka with the book), it causes its affects no matter what.

What would happen if you let a computer system make an attempt at solving this anomalous equation? Would it just self-destroy, since there's nothing biological to transform? Umm, dude. What the frick. Literally NONE of this is what the SCP does. It is a moderately simple equation, easily solved by anyone with a good grasp of basic algebra. It doesn't do anything wierd on the paper. It's just writing. And if you solve it, the answer is a spontaneously generated adult female Kodiak bear... usually agitated. There is none of this 'super complex' or 'moves around the page' or 'turns people INTO bears' or any of this other wierdness. Not every SCP is a horror story. Some of them, like this, are meant to be funny.
