Even though I don't agree with it, I understand why they had to change the appearance of the statue. Could they have at least _tried_ to make it look a bit better? The original one looked good and intimidating. I honestly don't think I'd be scared seeing the new one coming at me. (Based on looks. Of course anyone would be scared if any inanimate object kept getting closer every time they looked away or blinked)

I'm of the mind that 682 hates not humanity but what they're infected with IE the Noosphere based creature of SCP-5000. Spoilers ahead: It's based on that humanity isn't meant to feel pain, and it's a dimensional being that gave us it (including emotional pain, including empathy which, due to that, makes one wonder what it means to be human) because it feeds off suffering and when we die we experience an exponentially horrific painful afterlife of feeling even the stranglets of our molocules getting further separated, the more we fall apart the more we're acutely aware of the pain, and that's what 682 finds disgusting, the unending unthinkable torture we face upon death. He wants to kill all humanity because, if he does, it starves the entity and it'll eventually stop feeding on the pain. ( disconnecting from the human noosphere, and allowing us rest after death, wether that means oblivion or an afterlife. If its the latter, his feeding causes our souls to be bound to the physical plane to experience the exponential suffering of fragmenting atoms and molucules that are "meant" to stay together ergo our self. Imagine your very molocules being drawn and quartered exponentially and infinitely and the more it happens the more viscerally you feel the pain of each quartering ripping you apart. Instead of just your arm being torn off, you also feel the fingers being torn off after, then seperated at the knuckles, then, after, the bones breaking, then the muscles degrading feeling like they're being slowly torn apart and with each new damage you become more and more aware of each fiber, each blood cell, each mitochondria, each cell, each atom, each neutron, being ripped apart from one another, each singular new awareness exacerbating the pain exponentially) because he needs alive self awareness and growth to keep feeding off the ones suffering after death (noosphere is collective psychic unconscious and without anyone alive, the human noosphere stops existing), so if humanity is genocided the entity can no longer feed upon that, thus the eternal exponential torture ends, and 682 wishes to save us from that but the only way he can is to kill all of humanity. He doesn't hate humanity, he hates what awaits us due to that entity, so when he looks at an alive human, he only sees the suffering yet to happen, and it's... disgusting. This comes from the story arc based from scp-5000. The multi chapter story is wild, I highly suggest reading it to any of those that like thaumial scp stories.
