Fun fact: in some fairy tales Baba Yaga was a good character, providing the hero of the story with food, a place to sleep, a place to bathe in and even some magical items and information that would help the hero in his/her quest. People of other countries are very used to seeing only the negative part of her in media, however Baba Yaga is surprisingly double sided and depending on the story could both play the role of a villain and of a kind but grumpy granny.

I know that kids are stupid and don’t know this so the comment still works but witches are just...normal people, and witchcraft isn’t particularly dangerous (you do have to be careful if you’re communicating with fae, I suppose, but that’s just a danger to the individual witch), it’s more just framed that way in a lot of stories, mainly as an excuse to slaughter without guilt.
