The Scrabble Cube from this pilot did not make it to the series as a worker who did not know how to rotate the cube properly caused an expensive disaster for NBC and Reg Grundy Productions.

Wow! Always interesting to see how a show evolves. There was definitely something here, but it's not quite refined. How long between this and the series premier?

This was in March 1984, and the series premiered in July 1984

Looks like the sprint round on the pilot cube was done with slide projectors inside the cube much like the boards on Press Your Luck and Blockbusters, as opposed to the CRT monitors we saw on the actual series. Pretty neat.
