So I looked into that second rubber stop and bracket. They appear to be the same as the one on the exhaust side. I have contacted my eBay seller who I purchased the stand from, and I believe I will be able to get a second bracket and rubber stopper. Not sure why they don’t offer that as part of the package in the first place along with the 12 mm bolt to hold it in. Hitchcock’s did not have the parts on their website. It said unavailable, and there was no picture of said part.

I didn’t need a bracket for the left side. There was already a hole for the cushion to plug into. Yeah..the kit I got was incomplete too but I made it work. Had to pay through the nose for a second cushion tho!

@@KeepOnWrenching I believe that hole you’re looking at is not for the rubber bumper. If you look at it closely, you’ll see it’s threaded it is for that little bracket and the rubber bumper goes on the end of the bracket. I believe it should be identical to the other side.

I’ll take a look! Thanks!

The two sides are not identical on the Himalayan. On the left (chain) side there is no bracket, the rubber stopper goes directly into the hole in the frame. So you need 2 rubber stoppers (one for each side) and 1 bracket for the right (exhaust) side only. Which is what Hitchcock's is showing for their kit (part No. KAW00003).
@artgavel6983 Жыл бұрын
@@hotmilk123456789 you so right. Bracket and rubber stopper on exhaust side and rubber stopper only on other side. I double checked a new Himalayan at dealer to make sure. It’s funny that both mounting holes look identical and yet the stop points are offset

Thank you for posting this video I just fitted my Scram centre stand it came with no instructions so watching your install made it easy for me 👍

Love to hear that. That’s why I made the video. I can’t wait for spring so I can finally enjoy my Scram!

I just got the same colorway a week ago and loving it! Looking at doing the first service (300 mile) myself, and this looks like a good first mod that will pay off in the long run. Easy rear wheel, chain, valve maintenance, plus better storage capability to offset the added cost/weight seems worth it to me. Thank you for this video!!

My pleasure. Center stand has already been really nice…especially for storage as you mentioned

You need 2 of the rubber stops one directly to the frame one to the steel bracket exhaust side, Fit the springs before the stop and and exhaust side stop. The distance is less . If you don't fit the frame stop the steel bracket eventually Blends and hits the chain, The rubber stop is available from hitchcocks motorcycles in The uk Standard on the Himalayan but not listed on 're parts.

I’ll look into that. Once I get the part and figure out where it goes I’ll make an update. Thanks for the info.

@@KeepOnWrenching I just got a kit from India. It came with two of the rubber bumpers. I thought it was a mistake but I guess it is for the other side. Only 1 bracket.

I mounted my center stand this weekend, thanks to your video. I used a retaining pin on the right side because how hard it is to get to the pin.

Thank you very much for the contribution, I just bought the kit and I didn't have the slightest idea how to install it

Awesome…note: there should be two of those square rubber bumpers. I only got one in my kit. There should be one on each side. Someone commented that at one point. Good luck.

Thank you for this video. This is the first I’ve found that addressed both the center/centre stand question, and the answer! Are the stand kits all, basically, RE parts that are marketed different ways? Are some “knockoffs?” (Is there any advantage in the RE part, from the RE dealer?) Do you know if this is the same center stand part as the Himalayan? If so, then it might be a slight bit more to get it on the stand with the lower front-end? Thanks. John

This one could go on either. The parts were described as genuine but you never really know these days. The parts were of high quality in my opinion.

The center stand kit for my Scram did not come with the bolt. Just to clarify, is it a 12mm x 1.25 or 8mm x 1.25 bolt needed for the bracket?
@dwightvarnes2696 Жыл бұрын
Mine has a Delkevic exhaust. The right side pin won't clear it without taking the exhaust off. I was able to install the pin 'backwards' instead.

All right man, I give up! I have f#cked with this thing for half an hour, and I cannot get the first spring on even a little bit. It is stiff beyond belief. I’m using heavy duty screwdrivers, and I can see them bending like they wanna snap, anybody have any ideas?
@gladteer8736 ай бұрын
I know I am a year late. Ran into the same issue, it worked after I put on the zip ties and make it tight. This way the initial distance between the spring and the knob is shorter so I had more leverage with even a thin screw driver.
