I had a Himmy for a while and it was great but the Scram sounds even better with less weight and lower seat height. The perfect bike for back roads cruising/touring. I want one! I can't justify it but I want one! Looking forward to a more in depth review Mark. Keep up the good work.

Hello Mark; Thanks a very good test/review on this bike, I think it should sell for OZ. Especially for Beginners and older riders who would like to down size and still have some fun. I have the Triumph Sandstorm Street Scrambler with a 900cc Twin and it has the power and handling to make me very happy and light enough to have a easy ride on dirt roads/off road. David...Adelaide...Tiger 900GT & Street Scrambler.

I tried one of these after the Himmy and found it a quicker steering more flickable bike for the slower back roads and it puts a smile on your face throwing it around. I wasn’t a fan of the 411engine compared to the 350 which is really great.

Great review Mark. I'm trying to like Scram 411 but I'm struggling a little bit. It's not an off road bike and its not a scrumbler. If I wanted Royal Enfield for off road i would get Himalayan and if i wanter a scrumber i would get an Incerceptor 650 or Continental 650 which are all learner approved. Like the colour options and that speedo.

I have the exact same bike in the UK , it's the slowest bike I've ever owned but awesome fun. The brakes do get a lot better after A few miles.

Love the look of these, fantastic looking bikes and I already love the Himalayans. That clock you pointed at is also the Tripper navigation unit (satnav linked to your phone), which is really handy to have. It is a shame that you can't switch the rear ABS off on the Scram for offroading, as you can on the current Himalayans, but not the end of the world. Great looking bike and I like what RE is doing with repurposing existing models for new markets without a tonne of R&D. Great work. Also Mark, as you have this in with Essendon, have you ever ridden the RE Bullet Trials 500? I've seen they have a couple in the showroom and I think they're aesthetically some of the best looking bikes RE currently make, styling just really works for me. Mechanically they're not especially amazing, just a visuals change on the normal Bullet so they're not fantastic off-road, but could still be fun to see you take one for a spin anyway.

The great thing about Royal Enfield is their updated factory, and manufacturing quality improvements. This bike seems to be aimed at those that want the Himalayan, but have no plans to go adventure with, therefore don't need the crash bars, etc. A cheaper platform with the same quality manufacturing. Mark, no price???

6 gears? ....Only if you count neutral as one! Love the Skyline Blue...but we don't get that one here in the UK, so I settled on White Flame. Great bike, big smiles, so long as you don't ride it like a sports bike.

Those mirrors look terrible with the stocks coming out of the bottom like that. Then again, most stock mirrors look like ass. I agree though that the rest of the bike looks great. Very utilitarian and sturdy looking. They have done a good job of improving them with each iteration from what I gather.

Took mine from Melbourne to Batemans bay across to Canberra down the Hume back home sitting on 110 kph all day in 37 degree heat no trouble at all.. I guess your not very adventurous 🤣🤣

I really don't like Royal Enfield, except their Himalayan. I'm in to utilitarian bikes, that bring about adventure, practical use, and offer various addons and gear to do so. The retro look has zero appeal to me, even though I love artisan creations and organic materials like leather boots, cotton shirts, etc. Therefore there's no appeal in caferacers, scramblers, enduro bike, racing and road bikes. 100% adventure bikes, ag bikes, etc.

Love your videos usually but........ you some sort of wally that bike as you said right at the start of the video the bike had done 5.3 km and you are thrashing the life out of it before its even be run in and had its first oil change . No wonder it had no go in it and the brakes didn't feel great nothing has had chance to bed in yet!!! Perhaps you needed to read the owners manual or treated it with some respect and not like someone who had stolen it.

Sorry if I came over a bit strong, Enfield's of which I have 2 do have a running period of 300 miles when valve clearances are checked and adjusted and they are known to be out {usually tight) The engines do change in there characteristics .as they loosen up ,given time. I was getting worried for the bike knowing it had only 5.3 km on it. thinking no what's he doing.!!!!! Also the gearboxes feel different when the running in oil is changed for something better. They don't perform out of the box like Japanese bikes do. I would go back in a months time and then see if there any better? Its not gonna be a rocket at low cc but are perfectly cable to keep up with motorway traffic.
