Scrap Mechanic Automated Farm in Survival (Humor inclusive!)

I was sick of dumpster-diving for my food. So I finally built a scrap mechanic fully automated farm! As usual, I hope my editing is funny.
I tried building a scrap mechanic farm before, but I didn't know that the sensors could detect fully grown plants. So my clock kept getting out of sync. I also was too lazy to care about farm defence.
For a while, I kept using a scrap mechanic farm with my sawblade wall design. However, it was a manual farm. Did I already mention that I'm lazy?

Do you have suggestions for improving my fully automated farm? I would love to hear them! But don't expect me to actually do them. I'm lazy, you know. However, bad ideas are always welcome! That's what I do (most of the time).
Did I already mention scrap mechanic farming or a scrap mechanic survival farm build? Because if not, then I just did. Gotta get those terms in here. Not like people actually read this. But if you just did, then you deserve a cookie(and then diabetes).

*Edit: If you want to use the sawblade wall make sure to build it taller* In retrospect, I think I could have just placed the water container next to the pump and connect it with blocks to my farm and then use the connect tool for some long connections... But I guess the pipeline looks at least much cooler.

Connect tool only works if it's the same structure. So in place of the vacuum tube you'd still need a "water pipe" made from blocks. My farm had 12 water jets all connected to a water pump 1500 blocks away. Sadly it glitched into the map and while I retrieved the parts I have not bothered to rebuild.

@@altaem9152 It just fell down as you went too far away and the attachment point as well as the map un-rendered. Having connections to the ground every... 256-8 blocks(1 stack) will make sure that this doesn't happen. Also, he mentioned that it needs to be connected. Additionally, the pipes increase the "lag" or rather, drop your FPS even if slightly as they need to render the items moving inside of them, so it's usually better to just have it connected with blocks if you care about "efficiency" and not care about it looking believable.

@@Petq011 While the scenario you describe does happen, that was not my issue. The farm worked for weeks in game with minimal issues. Ultimately it was too heavy for the pistons and they failed distorting the whole build and glitching it under the map. Definitely was not caused by moving away from the structure, indeed I twice fixed piston glitches by moving beyond render range and reloading the world. Also my "water pipes" were just blocks running under the map.

@@altaem9152 Ahh.. yeah. :D Have you tried wheels on rails to guide it and reduce the weight on the pistons to the point where they only push and pull and don't have to carry the weight as well?

Thanks! The saw wall is only 98% effective. Sometimes haybots manage to glitch through the saw wall. Adding another wall behind the saw blades should fix this issue. I also don't know if the wall can deal with tapebots or bossbots.

@@Dr-Pixel No, Farmbots arent scared by sawblades, as for tapebots, they are ranged bots, they most likely attack at range.

I want to tell you something, (If you don't already know.) you can use a lift to lower a thing into the void of scrapmechanic where water is, and make connections to make it work. (The pump is below the surface and is in the water beneath, and pipes lead up to the farm.)

Yeah, I can recommend it! A little expensive to built, but really simple and effective.

It is not necessary to do all the tubing, you just have to replace the tubing with a line of buckets, with that it will already be connected and you will only have to wirelessly connect the water collector to the cannons ... I also spent my life creating tubes and they weren't necessary hahah

hey for trigering the planter vacume thingy just put a sensor on top and have a track of notches on top that the sensors sees everytime it goes over a dirt it fires. heart my comment if you don't know what the heck Im saying but want to see a screen shot.

@@Rook277 You will be fine if you just plant up to 9(Carrot/Redbeet/Tomato plants), 6(Potato/Cotton plants), 4(Banana/Blueberry/Orange plants), and 3(Broccoli/Pineapple) with 256 blocks between each patch. Then just go about your other material grind and pass by every 20 minutes or so and replant. You won't need to bother with defending raids either. :D But I just found that video with the more effective... invincible farm protection and I'm using that set-up. Also... I can confirm that unlike how it's stated in that video... you don't need friends to make it work. You can use the sign of your bags as beacon, saving you the resources to build an actual beacon. And I used inc flowers instead of cardboard... since that's more useless... unlike cardboard. :D
