Just do not pay it, Even if you watch TV They have no way of knowing unless you tell them. The enforcment officers have no power. If they knock on your door you can just close the door in their face, no need to talk to them.

A national movement is the answer ! A place where everyone who is sick to death of the BBC can go and register their dissent. A site that will act on behalf of a great number of people instead of each person trying to make an individual stand which is ignored by the BBC. I am sure that the people of this country would donate to fund such a cause ? It does not have to be a significant amount as so many people would join, and " the crowd funding " by such a large number of people would realise a considerable amount of money to defeat this unfair, exorbitant tax !

I would willingly put up with commecial adverts on the BBC because the BBC already have breaks inbetween their programs in the form of promoting future programs and news relating to how good they are.They use our licence money to pay someone to produce these snippets promoting themselves and we are all so used to the commercial breaks on sky etc we don't notice the BBC self indulgent breaks, they are taking us for suckers. It must stop.

We don't pay our TV licence. But before you send the van round, just hear me out. We're ex-pats living in South America, and none of the countries down here have TV licence. Nobody would pay it anyway

Im concerned that,by 2027 so many people will have stopped paying the telly tax that the BBCs friends in liebour will just put the fee on our council tax bills.So I hope they keep the present system,as its no problem to just stop paying.

No dont scrap the licence! I have the choice not to pay it just like you do! If it's scrapped it will be paid by everyone in general tax or council tax and no one will have a choice! If your too scared to stop paying it don't ruin it for everyone else!

@@cradlefive No one has ever been fined more than the BBC TV LICENCE costs.. People have only been prosecuted because they have been stupid enough to engage/talk, and give personal information to the Capita goons (door to door salesman) who come knocking at your door. Into tricking you to boost their commission based sales by harassment and Scare tactics..

@@cradlefiveNot true. I cancelled mine 17 years ago. I haven’t wasted any time watching broadcast TV since. I may sometimes watch a Blu-ray disk or buy an online film from Amazon Prime. I am not breaking the law and I throw their threatening letters in the bin.

@@cradlefive BS. I have not paid in years, I do not watch TV but they have no way of proving that I do or do not. People get scared into saying something that can be used against them, thats how most get caught out. There are no TV detector vans, its all BS. Most people convicted are woman because men are more likely to just tell enforcement to sodoff. Even if you end up in court the average fine is little more that the license fee.

The BBC's licence tax should be scrapped it's over hundred years old and put in a museum no one should pay or made to it's fraudulent to order the people to pay for a BBC channels and to say they own something that's wasn't BBC's in the first place

Why can't the people who can't afford the licence just stop viewing live tv? I wouldn't watch it myself, but my disabled wife sits and watches the tv all day and likes the morning programs and afternoon quizzes. So I have to pay. If the licence is scrapped everybody will have to pay for it through tax. At least as it is only the audience pay. Perhaps a better system would be to pay to view, like Netflix etc.

If you've paid by direct debit use the direct debit indemnity clawback written on the back of the so called bill they send you threw your bank for a full refund

I watch Disney+, Netflix, KZbin, prime video. Basically films and repeats. Do I need a tv licence for watching those. Don’t watch any bbc stuff and anything is on catch up so isn’t live.
