I just found your channel! I've been a fan for soooo long! Seriously, like more than 15 years, I think! I think I had one of the first sketch books you ever made! It was basically print outs of sketches with a plastic binding. I love how every one of your pages is beautiful, tells a story with heartfelt journaling, uses multiple photos, and just seems to look so clean without looking boring! Just ordered from SG last week; looking forward to my new sketch books!

Oh wow! Those are from way back when! How does it seem so long ago, but just like yesterday at the same time!? I remember we used to bind those ourselves with a small machine we had. It was a lot of work! Thank you so much for the compliments! You just made my day! ❤️

This is about my third review of this video. I still find new ideas. So I've saved the whole video to make sure I can get to it when I like. On the last photo I noticed this time how you have balanced the journaling above the title. I guess you created your own white loops. I'll need to study that. Pulling this out to a double layout will work well. I have lots of pics from scuba diving. Thank you!

Thank you! I have mine printed at my local Wal-mart. I've always thought they had great quality, (I love that they print matte) and a great price. Plus, it's right here so I can have my photos in an hour.

I love the sketches and what you did with them. Did you do all of your stitching by hand. I invested in embroidery floss to try it myself. But I would like to know if you 1) draw the lines with a pencil before stitching, and 2) do you not put glue/adhesive where you will be stitching? I would also like to know if your course on stitching on the SG website will help me learn how to stitch?
@allisondavis4sg9444 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Belinda! I do all stitching by hand and I will draw the lines with a pencil before stitching. I am careful about where I put adhesive if I plan on stitching something because the adhesive will gum up on your needle and embroidery floss. I go light on the adhesive since it's going to be stitched down anyway. There stitching materials at SG would be helpful, but if you want to see if you would be interested in stitching before making a purchase you should check out my "how to add hand-stitching..." video here on KZbin. It's got every step I take when stitching. Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6fZdZR-Yr6Fr7s I hope that helps some!

Sorry for sooo many questions, do you use a certain font to do all of your journaling and what do you print it on?
@allisondavis4sg9443 жыл бұрын
I don't mind the questions at all! :) My absolute favorite font and the one I use most often is called Century Gothic. It's a good, classic, easy to read font that goes with everything. I print my journaling on cardstock.

Thank you for sharing another wonderful video. I get excited when I see sketch support posted on Facebook, and cross my fingers that you’ll do another video. I love how you adapted all of your layouts with this sketch, and really love your single layout of the beach, wow! 😍 I do have a question for you. Where do you order your photos from? Thank you again for sharing. Between the twenty sketch class this summer and sketch support, I’m a happy scrapper! 😊
@allisondavis4sg9444 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Kim! Between that sketch class and Sketch Support we are definitely staying busy! I order mine from my local Wal-mart. I've heard mixed reviews on the quality of Wal-mart photos, but I think the quality is great, or at least it is at my local.

I guess I have a couple of questions: How do you make your journal lines? How do I possibly make a layout like you do?? They are beautiful and so detailed. Where do you find the time to do all that you do? Thank you.
@allisondavis4sg9444 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Ellen! My family owns a scrapbook store and my main job is to simply scrapbook. I'm very lucky that I get to devote the majority of my "work" day creating. I am very grateful for it. To make the journaling strips I add double spacing between the lines when I type my journaling and then print them out. Then I use the lines on my paper trimmer to help me cut them out. I make one long cut on the sides of the journaling first so that they are all the same length. Then I cut out each individual strip. Someday soon I'll try to make a video, because I've had several ask how to make those. :)

I would love to see your sketch support, Behind the Scenes process you mentioned possibly creating 😍 I think it would be super helpful to see you process of picking photos, etc. Your videos are my FAV, you pack in SO much info & spend the time to explain every detail as well as your process, all the while giving us tips & tricks. I have bought all 3 of your 4x6 e-sketchbooks & save all your KZbin videos on my Pinterest board for future reference. Thank you Allison❤

This is Diana again. One of your commentaire said she would like to scrap with you. We could all work on one of your sketches of layouts virtually. Do you do that? It wouldn't have to be very expensive? So many would like to do it you'd probably want to have 2 or 3 different sessions. It would be great.
