Day 6: Hey Scrapman in one of the small new rooms in your survival world in Scrap Mechanic, you can use it a like a bedroom. You would put your bed then a little closest in the corner for the dressbot. Then put a chest beside the bot for your garment boxes.

One of the second floor rooms could be a *kitchen* with the cook-bot, cabinets, cupboards, and maybe a vending machine or a locker. Some other decorations could be some plants and the ammo (since it's just potatoes in a basket)

I just had an idea. Since most the lag in your base comes when the bridges are down, you should put them on sensors. When leaving you make a sensor to sense the vehicle and lower the bridge long enough for the vehicle to pass. When you return you can have a sensor in or near the sand to lower the bride long enough to drive over it. You can also have a switch to override the sensors so you can basically turn them of. (using an and gate) This would same you time, possibly frames, and also spuds.

ScrapMan! What if you placed “decoy” farm plots in front of your base for hordes? Would the bots go for those before they tried to reach your main farm? That may be a safer way to test boss bot traps, etc!

The idea to give every input to the packing station a seperate switch is good, because the packing station can only pack one crate at a time. If two stacks are ready at the same time and the vacuum pump doesnt't stop to fire, the fruits will be wasted. A good thing to know is, that if the vacuum pump is near enough, it only fires the fruit the input accepts, so it would work with only two connected chests plus the vacuum pumps, too. where you don't have to take care in which chest you put the fruits.

I have a good idea how you can stress for the chemicals into chest without having replaced the chest that are there vacuuming up the chemical you could use pipes on the main socket on the top so by doing this just have the place down cemented empty chests and bing bang you got yourself a fool chest of chemicals

If you load your fruits and veggies into interactive chests for storage, when you go to the packing plant, you can just grab the chest and attach it to the outside of the stationary packing plant chests, instead of clearing out your inventory. Also, if you flip the chests in the chemical plant to where the center connection is up, you can add 4 more chests later, and have 8 full chests just sitting there waiting...

Your bridge should have a sensor on the inside to open the door when your sensor senses the vehicle and it would open and when your driving make a timer so it wouldn’t close while you driving or you can’t do that if you can’t sorry I stopped playing before pistons where a thing.

Love the new setup for the Packing Stations. I am not sure 100% but I believe in one of the SM Updates, the Packing Stations are now smarter. So you could have 1 chest and a tube system to each vegetable input, and when you turn the pump on it's smart enough to pump the veggies to the right input. Don't think it's a major advantage, would have saved you some resources may be as you could use fewer chests, but then you'd need a lot of tubes which is probably just as resource hungry.

Hey Scrapman! You can put an OR gate next to the repeater and hook all of the switches into it, then hook that into the and gate in the repeater, so it only pulses when it needs to.

Use a one-block distance sensor facing he chest location to turn the pumps on & off, and build a ‘brick’ of pre-fabricated chests to transport to the chemical pumps so you can pull the old chests, and then drop the new ones in all at once.

if you put 6 pumps on two chests and put it on a vehical you can back into that narrow part and suck the chemicals out so fast it will only take you a few min. put logic gate timer and switch on the chests put a simple cage around it and use your weld tool to pop it on your car and hook up the switch on your seat. take seconds to hook up. less time than swaping out chest everytime.

Consider adding 1 or more vacuum pumps directly to your production line chests. I have that in my world and it looks cool. When producing anything needing water I just flip the switch on the wall and it’s sucks in the water needed.

For the water gathering system, I'd like to suggest that instead of doing a chest or inventory transfer system like with the chemicals and produce, there should be some pumps in the water with a direct connection to the overall inventory system via glass pipes. It would have to be carefully managed to make sure to not fill the whole system with water, but putting the pumps on a switch in easy reach of the crafters should give an option to gather water on demand.

Scrapman, you have one of the pumps pumping out you can have a station where you just attatch a chest to the other chest that's gathering and you can fill it right away, that way it still pumps and you don't have to use a bunch of inventory space to move everything

you should have 4 overflow chests connected with tubes so once the original 4 are full they will overflow into the new 4 and you will be able to pick up the full overflow chests

It would make taking chemical faster, but it would lower pumps from 3 to 2 per chest, i think it is worth it, because he will pass that space when ho goes hunting for kits to tower. At least i have that setup, chemical is near tower and i frequently go by it to get kits.

Idea: if the chemicals become ammo for the water gun in the future, you could connect the chemical plant by a thin line of blocks to almost your base to keep it loaded and then you can have automatic chemical turrets. They don't even have to ever stop! Just don't attach it to your base or the whole thing will be always loaded. And you can already do it with water to defend better against haybots for free.

@@creativenametxt2960 as far as I can discern. The active chunk is an area around a player. Its larger than draw distance. If it was a static tile then nothing would load on an adjacent tile even if u stood right next to it.

ScrapMan replacing the chests would be faster because braking and moving a full chest and then placing an empty chest would be faster then moving all of the items from a full chest to an empty chest. But when you choose remember that if you replace the chests there is a little time in which the pumps aren't working.

Activating more than one pump at the packing station might screw some fruits. The boxes don't get packaged all at once. So when blueberry is being produced and banana goes full, they are queued and additional bananas just get smashed. This is a waste of fruits. (I learned this the hard way, going four pumps full force.)

If you don't remove them it helps, but when you remove chest it loses its color and goes back to starting color.

I don't know ifntat bug is fixed, but you should try it anyway. Do these things: pick up a large container with stuff on your shoulder, drop it in the free space by pressing RMB, than pick it up again. Now, you have it in your inventory!

You should do a pipeline from both the water and the nearest chemical pond all the way back to your craft bot so you never have to drive to get chemicals. I feel like that's what the chemical chest is made for. That way you don't fill up all of your normal chests with chemicals if its attached to the same system.

You should add transfer pipes from the chests that are collecting the chemicals to another chest so you can quickly grab the chest getting chemicals via pipe and swap in new chests for faster chemical harvesting.

You should move the switch to the pole on the packing plant and conect the vacuum pump to the pole so you can remove the chest so you can get a full chest and then place it on the pole so all you need to do is push the switch and get packages.

I know you like to do science.. and watching this gave me a idea to try if pumps can shoot water into a bucket and if a pump can pull water from a bucket you can possibly have a chest that would never be empty of water sort of a water chain but now that I'm typing it I don't see a use for it lol still going to try it out... thanks for the idea
