It will be more ammo-efficient if only the left sensors are linked to the left spudguns, the right sensors to the right spudguns, and the middle sensors to both.

ways to improve the system: 1 put collectors in the ground so the legs/ spines of the bots get collected , 2 it doesn't really matter if you have four or two spudguns because a haybot always takes four hits and with four spudguns it'll be an instakill , 3 don't worry about ammo usage they rarely even get to the bouncefloor with the wheel wall active. idc about likes but if you appreciate the ideas here like the comment so scrapman will see it more easily. :)

You could line the face of your build with spudguns and short range sensors. like have a line of spudguns a few blocks above the bounce floor facing out and a sensor below each spudgun. It'd be an absurd amount of materials, but it would (probably) work really well.

5:22 When packaging your food, I highly suggest using a chest with a vacuum and connect it to a switch with two logic gates & a timer. Put the chest on about 3 blocks of cardboard to make it level with the packaging input. I have 2 set up like this. That way, when I package 2 different foods, I can be assembling the crates on my vehicle while they shoot the food into the machine. Maybe do a video to explain better/ more detail? 2 suggestions: 1:Put some warehouse keys on the sensors for the wheels with the one block wide on the one block wide. 2: if you put the pistons for the bounce floor on 2 distance and a certain speed it will damage bots itself, and since there is so little bots getting through, you shouldn’t need guns for hay bots.

@13:50 you could setup a test area in front of the castle, like a bunker, with a 360 degree rotational spud gun (4 spud guns, 1 for each cardinal direction), that will rotate and fire 4 times at any of the sensors around it that were activated :-D If you tweek it enough, you could have it timed perfectly to shoot at anything passing over the sensor, and with enough sensors, the gun would keep rotating to shoot anything passing into your fire zone... each gun, with the right logic, could fire independently at multiple directions 4 times without wasting shots :-D If you build a platform around the bunker, and then glitch into the ground to have sensors facing up below the ground all over, you could sense any bot passing over any area :-D

Here is my idea for the boss trap; in front of the bounce floor make pistons that shoot them up high then using the wheels put them as high as the bot will fling up. Therefore the boss bots will explode far away enough to not destroy the ramps. And an idea for the Haybot house; just double or triple the metal where they push the others through the wall and maybe quadruple and quintuple? Idk how far through they push. But yeah, like so ScrapMan sees this.

You could use some other sensors and some bearings to swing some clearing "arms" from the piston sensors to clear things towards the wheel wall. Also you need to put some resource collectors against your front wall to auto pickup the legs. You might also want to consider one of those auto farms like what kAN and Moonbo have built (the auto planting auto watering auto harvesting ones) for just one of your plots for just potatoes and connect the vacuums up to your ammo crate and to a large crate (to hold the seeds for planting), that way you keep getting ammo back automatically with less worry. But again, these are just ideas. Great game play though. Keep up the fun work.

Well first I’m glad you decided to add these. But there is a much more efficient and effective way to add the turrets. I wish you could join my game so you can see. It’s hard to explain but super easy to do once you see it. But I’ll try... if you put 4 guns facing in all 4 directions and have it spinning and each gun has its own sensor. You won’t need logic gates, your cover area with sensors becomes a circle because they are rotating.

There is a way to check for bots over the whole bouncy trap without even using sensors. Just have your guns shooting with a pretty long interval and at the end have buttons where the spud could land. Then you link everything up so that if your spudgun shoots without hitting the button it will keep shooting until a button is hit. Doing it this way he won't need to have things in the middle. Also I'm not sure how ammo efficient this would be, probably not too good

Suggestion for you @ScrapMan Perhaps if you set sensor traps, which trigger the spud guns to rotate to shoot in that direction? You could set the rotation to accurately shoot at that sensor.... Each Auto gun would be triggered based on its own set of sensors which would spring it to shoot at that area ASAP for a few shots before re-calibrating to new sensor hits...? perhaps if a sensor keeps getting hit, it will keep shooting, until a cool down? Once the cool down is over if no new sensor it stops shooting?

Like many said before, put resource collectors underneath the bounce floor to collect the legs/spines of Haybots. Also you only need the the left most piston to have two sensors, then the middle one has one only sensor on the right and the right most piston only has a sensor on the right. That way things don't get double sensed.

You probably could honestly get rid of all your defenses and only use spud guns so that way you don’t waste ammo with the bounce floor and everything will look more like a castle with cannon defenses. What would be super cool is a sweeping spud gun turret where it stops and shoots when something is in front of its sensors. It would be rather simple too. One controller on a loop sweeping 180 degrees, a timer loop to fire the cannons continuously, and a nor gate to stop the turning when the sensor is activated. The advanced version could use 3 sensors to follow targets. You could have a base autonomously take out bosses.

As you should attach a logic repeater to the vacuum pump on your packing vehicle, And then attach that repeater to a switch, then you would not have to spam the button every time, Or at least it would make it easier, not necessarily better. suggestion for dealing with some of the debris: resource collectors behind the wall to pick up the legs. while the heads of both bots might still occasionally trigger the system, (and you could theoretically try vacuum pumps to suck up the greenie heads if you really needed to get them out of the way) the haybot heads despawn fairly quickly.

put those sensors on a looping bearing to sweep them over a line. You could sweep them back and forth as well as front to back while moving the guns to do a complete sweep of the funhouse floor. Add resource collectors and vacuum pumps under the floor to suck up debris and maybe a switch to turn the engine on and off for the wheel wall :D

You might be able to tune the sensitivity by having two or more adjacent sensors in each position, connected via AND gates, so only larger objects that trigger the sensors simultaneously will fire the guns. This _might_ be more effective at detecting live bots and ignoring debris. I also agree with the other comments - split the sensor grid in half to shoot for each side independently.

Hey @ScrapMan, to stop the debris from the bots activating the sensors you should put resource collectors by the bounce floor so the parts get picked up, or another idea is put resource collectors and refinery's under the floor at the front of the Scrap Manor then have vacuum tubes taking the scrap metal that is made to your craft bots.

The bounce floor causes all the debris to fly into the sensors. If you put the guns before the bounce floor, it should be fixed. You could even reuse the wheel trap sensors to also activate the guns.

I found out that if you shoot an empty piece of soil with a normal spud gun than it plants a potato. If you shoot it again than it is fully watered and ready to harvest. It costs 2 potatoes but you get more than 2 from harvesting them. Infinite potatoes!

To fix the degree problem u could always put collectors in the area to pick up the spines, the head and other parts dissapear shortly. Although there's a problem with the greenie heads but I doubt many will get through the tire wall. Here's another idea: you could have a wall to push the head and other parts off the bouncy floor by using pistons and tires although it'd need to deactivate the sensors and the bounce floor

Wasnt what I expected. I expected more of a mounted minigun spudgun turret. But it was a good video overall, Scrapman! Hope these defenses that you put better protect your base!

Try to make a all terrain vehicle or a vehicle that can survive in it's own in Survival mode. Make a bedroom with a wardrobe where the dressbot goes in, a kitchen for the cookbot with a dining area and a workshop area.

Lol, at this point the farm doesn’t even need a person to protect the crops, the machines will do it, just make the defenses automatic so you can build while the raid is happening. Also, I think you should put the bouncy floor on sensors in a certain area.

you know, the mentioning of hank reminded me of an idea i had. the ability to hack a certain amount of bots. when you finish a warehouse and get the encryptor and protector, you should be able to get a recipe for a "code scrambler" that you can shoot with your spud gun. it could deal 0 damage but if you hit each kind of bot with a certain amount they'll start to jitter and then they'll be allied to you. each bot will have a different set function and you can use the wire tool to set them to these functions as well as "tie" them to a block(could be another item you unlock, maybe called an anchor point or something like that). then the bots will do those actions automatically. you'd have to use the encryptors and protectors in the recipe, therefor limiting the amount of scramblers you can make. if the bot dies or you miss the scrambler will just drop and can be picked up. EX: totebots could have 2 functions, harvest milk and guard cows. simple, you give them corn and they can get you milk and they can protect your cows. hay bots could have 3 functions: plant, fertilize, harvest which is obviously for farming. tape bots could have 2 or 3 functions :guard area and guard player, maybe even repair structure where they will replace blocks that were in a certain radius of them. the red boys could have all functions(probably excluding repair) and maybe even extra functions like "harvest wood/stone" and "forage materials(where they follow you and pick things like cord, flowers, oil, ECT.)" but they'd require a large amount of scramblers to get, maybe almost all that could exist in a world for just one.

Scrapman - you can always put resource collectors behind the wall, so that they collect all bot parts from the bouncy floor. (this way the parts will not trigger the sensors anymore)

Hey ScrapMan! In order to eliminate a part of the ‘bot debries problem’, place a few resource collector under the bounce floor! That won’t get rid of the heads and other parts, but I think it will help.

@11:05 they should be placed on the walls, and trained to shoot at different sensor triggers placed just below the ground around the map :-D Hear me out; Since you can place a small wall and not have it attacked, can you place a sensor below the ground facing up??? The facing up sensor would detect anything passive over it, and trigger the spud guns to shoot in that direction?

Put a resource collector on the ceiling of the over hang to collect the bots debris so it isn’t triggering the sensors as much

Connect the bounce floor to the sensors so it only bounces when they walk into it. That way it only bounces when they walk into it and parts that stay still won't trigger the floor

Also set a timer on the bounce trap so it goes off for a short period so non-moving parts won't keep it bouncing.

You should slow down the repeater a little bit, and place ressource collector under the bouncy floor so at least the legs wont trigger the spudgun.

you could put the spud guns on a piston stack that moves them side to side so you can have a much more efficient trap.

To prevent debris from farm bots you should put collectors under the bounce pad, or behind the wall to collect the debris.

Scrapman, you could put the sensor next to the guns and put a piston with a block next to it and hook it up to a switch so when you want to turn on the spud guns just push the button

You can make a more flexible looping circuit by connecting a timer to a not-gate, connecting said gate to an and-gate, and then connecting said and-gate to the timer.

You should make a mounted turret on your wall similar to the one on your attack vehicle, but with more spud guns and a seat on it to control the aiming of the turret. it might be useful for the boss bots. btw I love your Scrap Mechanic Survival series, keep up your awesome vids! :D

During the raids you should put the resource collectors against the wall so they grab the bot parts and they won’t trigger the spud-guns or get in the way I know that the head and pitchfork arm also trigger them but it would also make cleanup a better easier/quicker. P.S. love your videos they are always so entertaining and fun to watch. P.P.S. Hope hank comes back with lots of milk soon.

Scrappy, for the problem at 10:11, place down the log/stone/bot leg stackers under or behind the bounce floor to pick up the bot pieces.

If you put a resors colector under the ground under the bounch floor. Than the bot leggs don't trigger the sencors.
