Paul why didnt you just put that copper trash can on the lift and then just tip it over in the truck? You should've tried to turn that power chair on. To see if it had power and you're right, the person might have been taken to the hospital and they couldn't take the chair. I am in one and that happened to me. I had to leave my chair at a gas station when a car hit my service dog and I had to rush her to the emer. vet. and I couldn't take my chair.

You was blessed to find all that copper and wire. And then find a window AC unit. But we all are at times. I've been fortunate lately on insulated copper wire. I've filled two 5 gallon buckets in a week. And my chiropractor gave me a garbage bag full as well. And tonight found 2 neighborhoods that had bulk pickup stuff out for tomorrow. I've picked up 5 electric wheel chairs. Keep up the good work man.

Hello Paul, here in our part of Florida we have a group that will take bikes and fix them up to donate to kids. My son does scrapping as well. When he sees bikes he always picks them up and if they are fixable he does, and donates them, if not he scraps them. Good luck on finding all of that copper.

Copper, what a find. I was born and raised in the capital of copper in Canada. Noranda mines. Northern Quebec. Now I live in Victoria British Columbia where there is no toxic pollution.

Paul those pieces of equipment at the yard were you unloaded are body lifts from a health care facility. They are a standing body lift. Used to pick people up rather than a crane type lift that the resident is in a sling.

So, so glad to hear you had a longer talk with your mom. Your copper find was amazing. Just the other day I had some things hauled from my home by my landscaper/handyman. In talking to him I found out that he spent years doing just what you do now. He watches You Tube but had never discovered your channel. I'm guessing he subscribes after watching the very first video. I thought you would appreciate a couple of comments he made to me. One was "The streets are littered with money." So true, yes? The other was that he always told his scrap that it was going to be part of an excavator or some other big, strong machine.

Here in Northern New York where I live, I had a garage sale back in 2015 at my parents. My dad wanted to sell the 1 inch - 8 ft long copper pieces, which are still usable, he has from the heating runs he changed out. Our local scrap yard said, the average going price was 3.00 a foot. He has 10 or 12 pieces in his garage still to this day. I am not exaggerating either in the price.

Awesome copper find Paul,I've never found that much #1 in the trash. I did find 4 rolls of #1 wire # 12 brand new 500 ft each one time. But that copper pipe was a great a great find !! God Bless Paul !!

Great find Paul! A lot of scrappers would have probably driven right by that because it was all in the trash can......pays to have a keen eye.....I know some other scrappers in my area that I see on trash days at times and they are zooming down streets looking for large items on the curb and all and I poke along at like 20 miles an hour tops down the streets usually slower than that looking on both sides for any sign of metal. But anyway that was an awesome find......I cant believe that people who pulled all that out didnt scrap it themselves.....I think a lot of people dont realize that anyone can go to the scrap yard. One of my neighbors once asked me if the scrap yard I went to took aluminum cans. I was like sure every scrap yard takes those. She said that she was never sure and so she had always threw all hers away. Then she asked me if she seperated them would I want them. I said sure I would take them but that if she wanted to make a little money now and then for her self to simply seperate them in trash bags as her and her husband used them and then sit the bags in her garage or something and once every few months when she was going out anyway just throw them in her truck, stop by our local scrap yard and make her a little bit of gas money back. I even explained to her how easy and fast it was if all you were doing was taking just pop cans so on. She told me she would tell her husband that they had never thought about it. But since then it kinda made me realize a lot of people dont realize they can make a few dollars off things like that if they dont mind storing them up for awhile in their garage until they have enough to make it worth the trouble of stopping at the scrap yard.

I'm 60 next year and I have never bought a vacuum cleaner. Nine times out of ten they get chucked out when they stop sucking. Often it's the filters are completely clogged, but upright Dysons often get a blockage in the flexi pipe that links the suction head to the main cyclone thingy. Maybe vacs in the UK are different than in the US?

After the hurricane came through we had a couple of scrappers come take away damaged metal items and I started giving them cords telling them there was #2 copper wire in them. I've been watching & listening. Our horse barn took a hit and we had a large workbench all metal in there. They are coming back for that! Great copper score Paul! Be still and know that I am God! On my wall to remind me too everyday!

i also use cable cutters on my copper as well. because its a softer metal and cuts easily. i hardly ever clip cable with it. i used it mostly on my copper and brass and stainless tubes that are attached to the fossets
