It’s a shame the bed didn’t sell. Wonder if it was in good condition and someone could have used it. Too late now it’s in a scrap yard. High cost of everything has sent people collecting scrap to help ends meet. Glad you can still make a few bucks with scrap and you tube.

Paul’s story of the building and the local council reminded me of Ken, one of my late customers. He was a locksmith but also made gates, shelving & all sorts of other stuff. He was really decent, quiet bloke. He bought a lovely Victorian building & renovated it. He no sooner moved his company in when someone in the local council, who wanted to impress his superiors, suggested they drop a compulsory purchase order on him, so they could use it as a warehouse for the town’s street cleaning equipment. Ken fought the council in the courts, losing a great deal of money in the process, but he lost & had to sell at a loss. Poor Ken had a nervous breakdown and was mentally ill for well over a year. He finally got back onto his feet & found another building. It was typical local council heavy handedness, just like Paul was talking about. The final twist, that really made me angry was that the council only used the building for about a year & then demolished it & sold the land to a developer, who built a hideous block of flats. It spoiled the looks of the whole area.

Thanks for the view of the water fall it's nice to stop and see some natural seen even if it was man made it was still a nice seen to look at. Ha! I really thought you were going to keep part of that bed conglomeration as a workbench! Fascinating history about the barbed wire! Thomas Glidden invented barbed wire to keep a beloved cow from straying off the property. And, as a former teacher, Thomas Glidden donated much of his land for a school which eventually became known as Northern Illinois University today! Of course, my immediate thought was he was involved with paint, but that was co-founded by Francis Glidden in Ohio. Glidden Paints was bought by PPG Paints, headquartered here in Pittsburgh. Still more digging found Thomas Glidden is the 3rd cousin, once removed, of Francis. It’s a small world, after all. 😁😁😁 Good to see you, Paul! You touch my heart and also stir my brain soup!

Olivia likes it about 80°. Anything cooler than that she becomes a nuisance because she wants to sleep on top of me. She is always cold. When I put on a sweater for her, she is much more content
