What I love about this script is basically everything you said. This script doesn't rely on legacy characters, it acknowledges the previous films, and does something new and unique. I loved the new characters, specifically Kinkade and Cain. And with Michael not hunting family this time, it makes him scary again. I really hope they make this movie one day. Maybe send it to streaming to avoid confusion for casual fans. I've actually been writing my own fan sequal to this script to continue the story. Of course, with the way they ended it with Cain making Michael disappear, I have no clue how to explain that, lol.
