Welcome back to the Blue Pallet Series 2, Episode 13. Today I scrap out two gas powered Roasters. How much copper and brass are inside?
Once I get them all scrapped out, I weigh up the copper and brass. I then melt down the copper in my Devil-Forge furnace. Once melted, I cast it into a copper ingot, clean it up and stick it on the table with the rest of the ingots from the series.

Wow something made of all metal. 😲 Next time you are at the scrap yard see if you can buy some motors to scrap you can get a lot of copper that way. Probably cheap to.

Love watching your shows brother! Can't wait for your next one. See if you can find some copper radiators. They have a good amount of copper inside the alumanum. Used a saw saw to cut them in strips and then a utility knife to score down each strips. Then the copper comes right out.

Hello Scrap2Cast! i watched this video 3 weeks ago when it came out, as i stumbled over your channel watching videos of bigstackd and ewasteben. i decided to subscribe and i have watched all your prvious vids now, so i got all the humorous things that accumulated over the time. i like the most the scrapping parts since i scrap a little bit for myself and stack metals and boards. your intro ist great with the dice never change that :) your doing a great job with this channel, and im already looking forward to more of your videos since you seem to be an honest and kind man! So like u always pray: keep scrapping, stacking and casting mr. nice guy :)

Thank you so much! It’s nice to see I’m getting recommended from those bigger channels (I’ve been subscribed to both of their channels for years now). I’ve tried to change some of the humor up more recently as I tend to think people get bored seeing the same old thing. I still have yet to scrap out final item from the BPS2 but I’ll be working on that tomorrow. Tonight I’m attempting to make aluminum bronze for the first time ever! I hope it goes well. Thanks for checking out all of my vids. I appreciate the support and I’ll try my best not to let you down in regards to the quality of content! Thanks again and welcome to my humble channel 🙂👊🏼🍻

Good video Bro!!! Got to Love that Copper!!! Interesting how much Brass was in that. The amount of copper was about expected. I think those were intended for NG setup, would depend on the burners and jetting. Shred Steel is still getting $5 for every 100 pounds here. I won't do less than 2000 pounds (ton) on any run. But have been saving it for better prices if that market comes back. Keep the content coming Brotha!! You're inching up in SUBS!!! 👍🏻👍🏻💯💯👍🏻👍🏻🔥🔥

Thanks a bunch brother! I think you’re right! My yard doesn’t take less than 500 lbs of shred at a time. About the maximum weight I’m willing to stuff in my little Honda 🤣

Great video brother. Love seeing stuff scrapped out to see what is in it and then melted into ingots. The copper bar may be small, but lots of small bars turns into a lot of copper. You got a nice amount of aluminum and brass for future melts. Is it about time for a scrap steel run? Great job 👍

Thanks brother! You’re absolutely right, those small bars definitely add up over time! My first time scrapping roasters like those. I was shocked at the metals ratio to each other. I try to cash in 500 lbs of steel at a time. The prices on it are crappy so to justify the gas being used to transport it to the yard, I gotta cash in when I know I make more than the gas consumption. Thanks for watching brother and I’ll get caught up on your vids tomorrow 🙂👊🏼👍🏼🍻

@@Scrap2Cast It's all good. I know I have gotten behind on several channels. Life happens. Last year, I took in a trailer load to the scrap yard. My little trailer is 5x10 I think. I had 1040 pounds of scrap on it and got $46 cash. I then put gas in my car. That cost me $78. Gas was around $4 a gallon. That sucked. I have a bunch of stuff to scrap out and haul off to the scrap yard. Several refrigerators and other appliances. Not much heavy stuff. It all adds up but need to make a big load to pay for the gas. Especially, since it just went to $3.19 a gallon and keeps going up.

You’re right, life does get in the way of things we want to do. I definitely am falling behind on a lot of channels too. I’ve been watching gas steadily climb the last few weeks. Sucks so much brother. Hope the steel prices start climbing

I was surprised. But where is the gas lines and regulator? How much does non magnetic stainless pay now?
@Scrap2Cast
@Scrap2Cast Жыл бұрын
It almost appeared like it ran off a small propane tank like a camp stove. The only reason I say that is the plates covering the piping was cut out, almost like it was modified to take small torch propane tanks, but I might be totally wrong. I just got $0.30 per pound for stainless at my local yard this past Friday.

Good job! What's the secret to stripping the small wires? I have the same machine and don't have your success.
@Scrap2Cast
@Scrap2Cast Жыл бұрын
Thank you brother! The first thing I do is straighten the wire out a bit. Then I strip one end if the wire to expose about 3/4” of the copper. I run the wire through the machine and put downward pressure on it the entire time. If the rollers wont grab onto it, I use my other hand and pull the wire through. I noticed if the plastic coating is hard and glossy, the machine rollers wont grab onto it. Hope this info helps
