Always great information. Love how you always give the current prices and how important it is to separate those metals.

Thanks tinman. I'll have a second look at the waffle maker sitting on my bench and decide if I want to pull the heating element off as an experiment. I think the amount of work might outweigh the benefit for a small item like that though.

It all adds up. Even saving it for the winter months when scrapping is slower.

I picked up a few coffee urns and commercial coffee makers that are non magnetic stainless steel but they have the vinyl plastic glued to the stainless steel. What chemical or solvent could I use to easily peel off the vinyl plastic?
@TinManScrapper17 күн бұрын
could just smash the plastic off or some yards will take as is for the good stainless steel.

So magnetic items are worth less than non magnetic?

Yes, worth significantly more.

Is painted black stainless steel considered dirty to most scrap yards?
