his music is SOO genius in scream 5... just look at the exact moment where Richie pulls out the inhaler from his pocket and shows it to sam... the drop sound effect, like sam's remaining hope was being sucked out of her while richie's dream felt like it was coming to life at the exact same time (or he thought so).. just genius

I saw this film just today, and was quite pleasantly surprised to hear the more elegiac, softer moments with a female soprano vocalist, and synth choir. This makes perfect sense, and while you have your slasher, horror-type moments, you do so in a way that does a duff of the cap to the 90s music, where it's more than just thumping electronic, all synthesizer type of music. Well done, Brian! The moments that offered room to breathe you so wonderfully supported. I did not expect to hear this from a Scream film, but it made me really feel for the broken sister relationship, and the vulnerability of the protagonists of not JUST the killer(s), but also their vulnerability of their own relationship. The fractured, vulnerable, yet needing relationship that cut deep into the psychological crevasses of the guilt, shame, anger, etc.
