I mean, Neve filmed for like maybe a few days with Melissa tops in Scream 5. She worked with her for a few days. She's not her friend, from anything I've seen. Neve owes nothing to anybody, she started this franchise with Wes, Kevin and the cast of the original Scream. It's her franchise. I didn't see Melissa (or anybody else for that matter) quit Scream 6 when they lowballed Neve Campbell, and nobody had a problem with that. People saying anything bad about Neve for this need to grow up.

It bums me out people aren't giving the same grace to Neve as they did to the last ensemble when the studios refused to pay their "star" her worth and still proceeded with filming, overlooking the disrespect Campbell received. Neve still supported #ScreamVI & gave her blessing. Neve had nothing to do with the casting shakeup and her getting flack when they did a similar disinterest to both actresses for each new entry is not very fair. I understand the grievances for #SCREAM7/ #SCREAMVII but seeing the fairness shift when it suits a specific narrative is hypocritical in nature. I personally don't care either way as I can't control a single thing done with the film anyways but just try to enjoy it for what it is. If I don't dig it, I'll still have the prior films to feast my eyes upon. This is just me being non-biased. I enjoyed all of the films, and I am just glad to see it continue to thrive in a world of cinema where franchises come and go or lose complete continuity. Albeit the cast shakeup, but what franchise is without flaws¿

I think she didn’t say anything because she may not want to risk something bad happening to Neve when she just said she was coming back to Scream. It’s just upsetting I’m so excited for Scream 7 anything Scream because I love Scream so much and it’s disgusting how some “fans” are attacking others for just being excited when Scream and this movies are an escape for a lot and brings a lot of joy to so many.

To be fair, her declining to answer could be a LOT of things. Neve is under contract, I doubt Melissa would put Neve in a bad situation. It makes me sad that when Neve was screwed over she supported everyone involved but now that it’s reversed a lot of ppl aren’t showing Neve the same grace. All I know for sure is I love Scream, I love Neve, I love Kevin and Courtney and I will be supporting them. (Especially since it’s not Neve’s fault or responsibility.) The studio sucks. We saw their true colors way back when they did what they did to Neve and when David spoke about feeling disrespected in 5. It shouldn’t be a sudden shock to anyone that the studio only cares about their agenda. But what studio doesn’t? Hell what corporation or business doesn’t? If we are going to stop supporting ppl and things that we like because of that then we all have to give up basically everything we use on a daily basis. Having said all that it’s fine to be of the opinion that you don’t want to see it. But stop the unnecessary hate to ppl that aren’t to blame. See, there is something about Melissa that I personally don’t like. She’s free to share her opinions, but don’t act like an innocent bystander when you fully know who your bosses are. Don’t play ignorant. And everyone knows there is a certain stronghold on Hollywood. I also just get annoyed when these actors use their platforms to lecture others about very intricate world issues. Like girl shut up. She is welcome to speak her mind, and I am free to find her annoying. And even before this, her portrayal in the scream movies didn’t work. It was serviceable, but even with the Billy Loomis tie in she almost felt like an afterthought, which speaks volumes about her performance. I felt more emotion and connection to Halie from Scream 2 than her. Just in general, this shows you how weird actors are. Melissa didn’t talk to either Neve or Christopher during this process. I think if Stu returns it should hit hard. The opening move scene should be a national event in the Scream universe. Major social media should get hacked by the Stu cult somehow. Have a running countdown clock, that says : For Billy. Then one person gets it in every state, at the exact same time. Each of the 50 should be related to one of the victims from the 6 movies. Also having For Billy written on the wall of all 50 people. Cut to Sydney : receiving some cryptic message, that decodes to saying : I've always had a thing for you Sid. Which was one of Stu's creepiest lines from the first Scream . Anyhow that's my Scream 7 Stu opening idea. 🤓

Scream 5 and 6 weren't very good, so I'm happy that we're moving on from the bore four, sorry, core four (Tara was a good character though) and getting back to an old school feel. Just an idea I had: Sidney is in a secluded location similar to Scream 3, but she's not in hiding, as she ventures out into the town and so on. However, after an incident that renders her injured, the new cast attempts to find her and see how she's doing, when news of a new killer breaks... only for most of them to be killed off. But why? The new killer is actually protecting Sidney, as most of the new cast are actually a group of cult members trying to kill her. All is well, right? Nope. The new killer has ulterior motives, that are tied to Mark Kincaid's past, something he did while he was starting out as a detective. The new killer doesn't want the others to get to them, because he wants to be the one who gets all the fun, and because Sidney isn't the main target of the solo Ghostface. As Mark is eventually lured out and into the open, and his and Sid's child is unexpectedly used as bait, Sidney takes it upon herself to rescue their child and stop this new killer from eliminating Mark. Locations include San Francisco (Apartment high rise opening sequence) and the Napa area, and BTW, STAB is being remade during this. Google Maps is used to locate certain characters, and one of the set pieces takes place at an abandoned vineyard at night. A.I. is heavily involved and is used to trick people, and there's a new Sid 2.0 character who's in college and who has a similar past to Sidney's, that is partially tied to a car crash years prior...

Scream 3 wasn't good at all, laughably bad for a Scream film. Scooby Doooooo meets Stab. Scream 4 was cut the hell up, way too many good scenes got removed. Original cut was way better. Still enjoyed it a lot. Scream 5 was so uninspired... boring setpieces, mostly stale characters.. At least some good gore.. but those Billy Loomis visions... oh my... cringe. Scream 6 had some cool setpieces at least and the newer cast got more to do. Chad should have stayed dead though. Sidney should stay away from this all... Scream is about STAKES... the girl doesn't ever get killed nor her family will. She doesn't like horror movies... she is boring.

Another KZbinr I think had the right perspective on Melissa not commenting on Neve’s return directly; he knew that if she said she was happy for her return that it would mean Spyglass would be able to spin it as a positive for their end. I’m mostly just bummed the Radio Silence team was fired. They used the term “exited” which is a PR way of saying we got fired. The studio gave them the obligatory Executive Producer credit which is meaningless as compensation for their contracts they probably had. I’m glad MRC quickly snatched them up for a deal to make new original films. They’ve earned it.

HEAR ME OUT: what if they try to give the fans The Best of Both Worlds by having their only be one Ghostface and it's revealed to be Sam🤔 Scream 5 and 6 would have been her backstory which makes up for her only being in the reveal section of 7 and throughout the story it's structured in a way where it makes it seem like there's two or more killers like usual but just like with the Roman its revealed to only be sam and she could also have a Throwdown with Sydney that's choreographed a lot like Roman vs Sydney.. I'd be okay with this because it breaks the formula of not having one of the new characters in the film be the ghostface but instead someone we know from before🤷‍♂️

Funny how noone including ogs quit when Neve wasn't getting payed and exited the franchise. But Neve is expected to not come back to her own franchise, for someone she did one movie with? Someone who wouldn't stop her career for Neve. Noone should do that, btw.

this is sort of like the whole Creed 3 thing even though both Melissa and Sly both quit and were fired for different things. (Sly quit because the producers of Rocky screwed over him over the rights of the Rocky and for Melissa she was just speaking out against a genocide and gave support to a group who was affected by it) Also, I think some people who were boycotting Creed 3 and Scream Vll which even though I get the reason but at the same time it'll never work. For Creed 3 Rocky was likely was just going to be a cameo and in Creed 2 we see him get a good ending where he passes the torch and reunites with his son. Also, Michael B Jordon seemed like he had some passion for this movie since he was both first time directing it and obviously stared in it and he did some interesting things with the boxing scenes taking inspiration from anime and he says that he is a fan of anime and there were people who didn't had nothing to with the whole drama with Sly and the producers working on the movie. Also, people were still seeing the Halloween and Scream movies back when both the Weinsteins were producers for those movies and when Harvey was doing all that awful stuff to woman. For Scream Vll there are probably some people who had nothing to do with the Spyglass and Melissa thing working on it as well as Neve and Kevin. I get some of the hate for Scream Vll and if I was going to Watch Scream Vll, I'm doing it out of support for Neve and Kevin Williamson and at the same time I can say screw Spyglass.

I'm sorry but I think that bringing Stu back would be a mistake. The reason why I think that is because there are so many people who want him to come back and be the Killer again that it's now at the point where people are expecting it and so if they do actually bring Stu back and have him as the Killer again then that is not going to be a surprise reveal, it is going to be predictable reveal. One of the most fun things about the "Scream" movies is trying to figure out who the Killer or Killers are in it, that is not fun when it is predictable.

Man Scream is one of the few movies that inspired my want and need to become a filmmaker. I want this movie to be made, the studio has created this mess. Just give Mallissa what she wants and bring Neve along for the ride. This drama is just getting out of hand😅 I desperately want scream 7 but not the studio poop 💩 scream 7, a movie that has a reason to exist. Like this entire franchise from 1 - 6
