I wonder why you have so much luck with arrma while Kev has more luck with the xmaxx. I own an xmaxx and have had it out 3 times now without breaking anything but i don’t go anywhere near as hard as you guys and im still on the stock power system though im working on buying the stuff to upgrade now. Doubt I’ll go with a giant motor as id like to leave the truck mostly stock but i would like to be able to backflip a little easier. A lot of people rag on the plastic parts from traxxas but besides in a few key areas I’d rather have plastic than metal. I built and aluminum T-maxx back in the day and hit a curb that twisted the whole thing. Aluminum bulk heads and diff cases is probably the furthest I’d go. It would be interesting to see M2c to come out with an aluminum chassis for xrt/xmaxx just to see how it does.
@richduperbash29662 ай бұрын
Kevin likes the XMaxx platform. It's a durable truck and super fun truck despite the wonky handling 😂. It's light for it's size because of all the plastic. Truth be told, there's lots of dead space (plastic webbing) in the chassis pods. Often you don't know the truck is imploding because it happens one crack at a time from the inside. Only when you take it apart to the bare bones will you find the cracks and failures. Plastic is great until it begins failing. Traxxas did a wonderful job with their control arms, hubs, internal diff assembly, and simple pin design holding bits together for easy removal. That said, the ring, input, and main gears are sinterned cast metal garbage designed to fail and need frequent replacement 🤑. You won't be able to backflip easily with the stock power and gearing. Unfortunately the stock tires won't handle real large scale power for long. The rubber carcasses are thin and the foams are the cheapest I've ever seen with 2 pieces seamed together with glue 👀. M2C won't make an aluminum XMaxx chassis because it's simply not cost effective and will weigh too much in the end. Again the XMaxx is a clumsy fun basher, but it takes a butt load of upgrades and mods to take the same level of punishment as an ARRMA. Having had both rigs, I can say wholeheartedly that the Outcast 8s EXB RTR is a WAY better value stock vs stock.

@Rich what’s your honest opinions on the chassis braces for XRT and Xmaxx man? You’re one of the hardest on this stuff so I believe YOU know if they’re an improvement or not. Curious…
@richduperbash29665 ай бұрын
Both braces are an added durability benefit no question. I'd say it's an absolute must have with the XMaxx due to the elevated center chassis pod. Because of this, the XMaxx never achieves proper chassis slap. The downward strain of doing jumps puts all the stress on the connection points between the front, middle, and rear chassis pods. The M2C brace addresses this exact issue with a brilliant internal anchoring design by Mitch. The XRT brace is also effective at protecting connection points and absorbing direct hits from rocks. Very simple upgrade too.

It's a hokey handler compared to the XRT or Outcast for that matter. As a hobbiest, I love all my rigs for what they are. Variety is key.
