Thank you for this because many other video have you put the design on top of the screen. For certain designs for me the designs never come out crisp and I have to redo shirts. Mirror it and doing it this way is a game changer

🙌 another reason I love having the vinyl on the back of the screen is so your squeegee has a nice smooth surface to go over. I love the sharp details you can get with this method 😁

Are you able to clean your screens with the stencil on and not lose the stencil?

This works best when you have a design you are going to use one time. If you have a design you want to use over and over, I’d recommend making a permanent screen- check out my video “Best Vinyl for Screen Printing with Cricut” to learn more about that!

How do I get a screen and how do you get the design to just stick on to it like that?

I’m screen printing with vinyl, that’s what is attached to the screen. My screen printing kit has all the supplies you need to get started (check the link in my bio and more info on this process)

Does the heat gun fully set the ink, or does it just harden the first ink enough to apply the second color right away and then you set the inks later on?

That’s correct- I’m just drying the ink so that it doesn’t stick to the vinyl on the next screen. Once I’m done and the ink is totally dry, I heat set the ink to cure it.

I’m slow I need a step by step detailed demonstration. I’m trying to understand why put the transfer tape on if you’re going to take it off and use the vinyl itself to stick or maybe I’m missing something

Check out my full video tutorial “How to Screen Print Multiple Colors with Vinyl” for a more detailed explanation. The transfer tape goes onto the top of the vinyl (not the sticky side) and holds the design together so you can transfer it to the screen from the backing paper without messing up the design.

Nope! That’s one of the reasons I fell in love with screen printing with vinyl- the entire process can be done in my craft room with just the materials I already have!
