I loved the last episode (for obvious reasons), but THIS is the episode that Star Wars as an IP/universe needed. Desperately too I might add. This is one of the few moments where they expand on the MYTHOS of Star Wars. Not just adding lore, but history and mysticism to Star Wars. Going far beyond the established Jedi/sith trope. Nightsisters is a win.

I also want to point out in the last episode of Rebels, Ezra has already seen this in a vision. He said, "Sabine will know what to do." Although she couldn't figure out what that was. I agree. It is not indicated in any shape or form that these stormtroopers are dead in any way shape or form. Instead they look to be loyal devoted troopers whom take pride in maintaining their gear as best they can considering their 9 years of distant exile. It would lend more credit and aura to Thrawn to have them alive and not resurrected. I am often hearing people say that the troopers are chanting Thrawns name. This is likely an honest mistake as what we are hearing is the thematic music score provided to lend gravitas to the scene. The actual power of the Sisters of Dathomir might be more along the lines of manipulation of hyperspace as they are Force Wielders (At least in their original incarnation in the novels), as well as the ability to commune with the Force in ways the Jedi and Sith likely failed to or forbade anyone to do.

@22:23 - "Let's not talk about that." At first, I too thought that it was odd she didn't tell Ezra what had occurred during the Galactic Civil War and that Big Papa Palpy bought the farm, however, I think this is more indicative of Sabine's - as well as many other people's - dissatisfaction with the New Republic. I think the First Order was able to rise because so many people saw the New Republic as a failure. We've seen in the Pershing episode of The Book of Boba Fett and in several Ahsoka episodes how the new Republic is run by a lot of very wealthy. detached, disinterested aristocrats. They refuse to allow Hera to go with Ahsoka and threaten her with being stripped of rank when she does. They don't understand the loyalty that was a big part of the rebellion. Things became very impersonal, such as having a droid counselor assigned to Pershing instead of a living, breathing, feeling being. When he spoke to the committee members after his speech, he really did try to communicate with them and they were just so detached from it all and so dismissive that he couldn't get through to them. One actually said something along the lines of "Oh heavens, you wouldn't see me fighting at a war!" or something to that extent. I think Sabine isn't just saying "Let's not talk about that" to avoid telling Ezra that they may well be stranded on Peridia but also because her feelings towards the New Republic are sort of "Yeah, we got rid of them but look at the mess we've got instead now."

Watching this episode of Ahsoka, I said, out loud, “He said the thing!” Made even better for me, as I am a huge fan of David Tennant. Also, I was unreasonably overcome with emotion when Ezra was revealed - I didn’t realise how invested I was in Sabine finding him, until it happened. I initially thought that he was going to be the trooper with the gold mask, until this was quickly refuted in the show. Still, with every passing episode, I am convincing the title of the show, “Ahsoka”, is just wrong, given how much it spends on main characters from Rebels. It would have been better served being a called “Rebels”, “Fulcrum”, “Ghost Crew”, or something that ties Ahsoka and the Rebels characters together. Maybe “Ahsoka and the crew of the Ghost”? We can workshop it… :) Cheers,

The absence of Ashoka reminded me of the story of Jonah being thrown into the sea but being saved by the belly of the whale. He was only thrown into the sea because he had lost faith in the mission he inherited from god. Ashoka seeing Anakin the manifestation of a Star Wars god remind Ashoka of all she’s inherited from him and why she must not abandon Sabine like she left Anakin after she gets thrown into the ocean. She then ends up in a whales stomach and is absent for some time.

In the subtitles is shown that the troopers are actually called Nighttroopers. So perhaps they indeed survive because of some form of Magik. I totally love it!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 What a magnificent time to be alive right now. Tears of pure joy!!!

More likely they went for a name change with the blessing of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn seems pragmatic enough to know that things have likely changed and that of primary importance was esprit de corp among the crew. Conspicuously lacking though are any non helmeted non masked members of the Chimera crew. Perhaps we will see them in a later episode?

Here’s my crazy fan theory about Enoch. Firstly, Enoch's helmet also has a modified rebreather like Rex did with his clone trooper helmet. We've yet to see any helmet like this. (More clone style.) Also, Commander Cody stayed with the Empire after order 66. He was amongst his troops and then was no more. Thrawn saw his loyalty to the empire and renamed him Enoch which means dedicated, trained and disciplined. I would say for you to turn on your brothers and the republic that shows dedication. Secondly, even crazier I would love to see an original Dathomirian Zabrak warrior in that stormtrooper armor but still able to use the force like a night sister, would or Maul. Filoni loved Maul, and so did the fans. It would be an homage to bring a force wielding Zabrak back. He also has a double red empire insignia on his helmet that remind me of horns. Lastly, Thrawn sent away a human named Eli Vanto to help with the chiss ascendancy. I don’t know how he could connect into the situation, but he was Thrawn’s number 2. And I couldn’t help but thinking of Eli when he said Enoch, which, if we’re going off of biblical terms, which Dave Filoni loves to do, Elijah and Enoch both ascended to heaven and were no more. In the book’s Eli mysteriously vanished from the empire. As you say "He walked the Earth and then was no more, God took him." To these troops, Thrawn is their God. Enoch’s book was also removed from the Bible. It's poetry, it repeats itself. Also the red and black clothing the night sisters wear are very reminiscent of the first orders red and black flag, the final order's Sith troopers armor, and even Palpatine was garbed in red and black. Maybe Thrawn's return with the night sisters was the key to unlocking Moff Gideon's force sensitive cloning process and as to why his fleet was so massive, thousands raised from the dead or cloned in secrecy. P.s. When Eli was sent to the Chiss ascendancy they shortened his name from Eli Vanto to Ivant because they could not pronounce his name correctly, same as did Thrawn with his name so others could pronounce it. Could Enoch be a shortened surname, based on the Chiss using the last letter of the first name and the first 4 of last name, as the Chiss did with his original #2? Ivant and Enoch both 5 letters... Thrawn trying to cling onto some Chiss pride when he hasn't seen them in so long.

Didn't expect Serpent Mound to get a mention in a Star Wars video. Fun fact: it sits right on the edge of a massive crater from an asteroid impact long ago. Also, there's many other similar mounds around the area that never gained the same notoriety given the forestation of the area since the mounds were built.

I took Sabine saying “let’s not talk about that”, as her not wanting to tell Ezra what she did to get to find him, not as her just glossing over. 🤷🏽♂️

Since seeing Ezra speak to Yoda in REBELS, I think Filoni has already retconned Yoda's comment to Kenobi on Dagobah when Luke left to go after Han and Leah, "No, there is another" , to be referencing Ezra - NOT Leah. Remember Luke and Ezra are only a day apart in age, so Ezra was around 14-15 (season3) when they spoke. So, considering the time the series ended and everything Ezra did in it, that would be around the same time Luke was just getting started with Kenobi's training, Age 19. I think Filoni has always planned for Ezra to be one of the greatest Jedi in SW lore and now he'll get to tell his story.

@@RiceFarmerEdits a nice theory, but it actually denigrates Leia which might be a big no no in this current genre of story making. But you are also hitting on something as a similar thought is mentioned in the Harry Potter series regarding Neville Longbottom.. Personally while I find Ezra to be an annoyance (admittedly Luke and Anakin were too at times lol) your theory holds great promise.

I don't know if anyone else caught this, but it seems like Baylon was surprised by how well-known Sabine was to Thron compared to himself. It puts into perspective how they were just a stepping stone to reach Thron, and I theorize this might even cause them to begin to move back to the Jedi order.

Really glad you made the comparison between the symbolism of the triple goddesses and the moon. I don’t see people often reference how the phases of the moon are related to the life stages of the triple goddesses. The new moon, or the waxing moon is representative of the maiden. The full moon is associated with the mother and the waning moon for the crone. I have no idea if this was merely a coincidence, but in The Last Jedi we had the scene on Ahch-To where Luke reconnects with the Force and reaches out to Leia. In the sky in the background of that scene, you see a full moon. But when you see the scene with Rey after she leaves the dark side cave, and has the Force connection with Kylo Ren you see a waxing crescent moon up in the sky. And these were obviously taking place on the same night. It has always been my opinion that they were using the symbolism for the mother and the maiden in these two scenes.

Found it interesting how your good selves included the witches scene from MacBeth , apt reference. Listening to Baelan’s speech back again, it sounds very much like MacBeth’s own speech in Act 5 of the play - an old warrior who’s seen it all (including some very bloody events) and seems to be exhausted from it all. He even echoes a rule of three in the speech: “Again… and again… and again”, reeks of Macbeth’s own: “Tomorrow… and tomorrow… and tomorrow”, ending with a feeling of, “What’s the point of it all, if it simply repeats?” Awesome stuff ✨
@BnBwithMe Жыл бұрын
“When I was a bit older than you are now, I watched everything I knew burn… I couldn’t make sense of it at the time.” You can tell Baylon truly loved the Jedi Order at one point. And he was a general, and probably felt the same way about his battalion of clones that Ahsoka felt about hers. Order 66 broke him.

@@garrym5682 Honestly, it was better to kill off T'Challa than it was to recast General Ross. And besides, they'd deage Mark Hamill to show him in The Mandalorian and would even bring Peter Cushing back in Rogue One years after he died, so it would seem it would be more likely that they'd CG Baylan's face than to recast, and that effect was bad on Tarkin.

I’m just hoping it won’t be “no consequences”. She’s acting as though nothing has happened and she’s seemingly confident that Ashoka is on her way or they’ll “work it out”. The difference in gravitas between this storyline and Andor is striking. Andor characters make bad decisions and suffer horribly.
