It's funny the only time you people are happy with Marvel is when you get something that you want. You people criticize everyone non-stop. You literally just said that Marvel and Star Wars were all feeding the fans what they wanted to see and that they shouldn't do it and now you're happy that they did. Grow up

Hayden Christensen really did an amazing job. You can tell he adapted and combined his character in the movies to Matt’s in the clone wars and it shows. Just a small correction: Anakin gifted Ashoka with blue blades the last time they met and she abandoned them with the cruiser where the removed Rex's inhibitor chip. The white blades were from a sith inquisitor that she killed and cleansed the blades since all red blades are crystals that have been bled with sith hatred.

Hayden has ALWAYS been sooooo smooth with the lightsaber!! Of course while dueling , but what really stands out to me is when he is in the flashback of the clone wars, and he is standing casually speaking to Ahsoka while blocking blaster bolts. The way he reacts to them and the way he moves. It truly seems like he senses them well before they are fired..His light saber movement is so smooth and second nature. It doesn’t look at all forced like Balin in the hallway … stiff. He looks so natural and effortless. Powerful. Perfect.

I love that Baylon uses form IV (Ataru) just like Qui-gon. It's referred to as the "aggressive" style, and I think that works great for Skoll, as it is kind of stiff, rugged and powerful, pretty much like him. It let's him keep up with Ahsoka's jar'kai if he needed too, but she also used Ataru (with only a single saber) for their duel, which I found odd, but maybe it's a respect thing. In any case, I enjoy Baylon's character a lot, he seems almost sympathetic to the Jedi in a weird way, or maybe it's more sympathy for the "old ways."

I haven’t seen anyone include this Easter Egg yet across the main Star Wars channels on KZbin, but when Ashoka uses the force power “Psychometry” to find out what happened to Sabine after she fell, we get the same sound effects and experience as displayed in Star Wars: Fallen Order and Star Wars: Survivor. This is a neat reference to the gameplay of Cal Kestis using that ability as a necessity throughout the games, and I love that it’s displayed consistently even in Live Action.

Dave Filoni has recreated the genius of the audience coming to love Ahsoka, this time in live-action. Most people hated her for the first bit of the Clone Wars (which was an intentional part of Filoni’s plan), and then she grew into everyone’s favorite. He did that again here, with everyone having issues with her stoicism/distanced personality the first half of the season. Now, by the end of this episode, she’s grown into the true Ahsoka we all love.

And I‘m very glad she‘s got this impromptu therapy session. All 4 first episodes I‘ve felt very connected to her, to how tense and focused on one thing she was because of her unprocessed trauma. I’m personally convinced that Anakin and Ahsoka retain their current consciousness as they travel through these flashback sequences, but are also fully fused with their former selves in those moments. I think the end of the second flashback sequence, where Anakin is present for the event here, but wasn’t present originally is the main indicator of this, but also some of the things that Ahsoka says, in both flashbacks seem to me like this is adult, Ahsoka simply retracing her steps. I’m also convinced that this is truly the redeemed, balanced, force ghost of Anakin, and he utilized the full experience of his full spectrum experience in the force to guide Ahsoka through this psychological and emotional healing process, so that when pushed to her edge, she would choose to stay balanced instead of falling to the dark side.

I'm so happy they let Ahsoka find peace. I wasn't a big fan of Dawson's portrayal of her up until now but it was like there was a lightness to her that was missing from the character and she was great. That the dourness was an aspect of her trauma works and now the first four episodes click better for me. Also this really shows that Hayden's wooden performances in the prequels weren't his fault. I wish he could have brought this emotion to them, I love Lucas for a lot of things but as has often been said he's not great at making performance choices.

It could have just been 'the force' manifesting Anakin because that's who Ahsoka needed to see to be at peace though? If it was actually Anakin, it was definitely an omnipotent (probably the wrong word!) version of him though that's aware of his entire existence at the same time - I think the "I've head that before" line was definitely in relation to Luke saying he wouldn't fight him, which obviously happened after the version of Anakin that's present.

Something I really liked about the episode is that Hayden Christiansen seemed to change his voice a little bit (though maybe it was just age?). In doing so, he actually was a remarkable mix of his own voice and Matt Lanter, the voice actor for Anakin in the Clone War series. Even if it wasn't intended, I loved it. It brought the prequels and the show together in a wonderful way.

One thing I noticed was when they were looking for Ahsoka Hera says people don’t just disappear but Huyang responds with not normal but with Lady Tano it’s a possibility or something to that affect. I think he knows that Ahsoka can travel to the world between worlds and she saved him through one of the portals and it could explain why he’s only 75% original parts cause the other 25% were lost when Ahsoka pulled him through and would explain how Huyang survived the purge and the reign of the empire

It was amazing! Beyond what I expected. I tweeted that Anakin is now a Mortis god, without the need of the Son or the Daughter as he is in balance and has assumed the role of keeping the Force in balance. There is another prevailing theory that Anakin is beyond Mortis and actual a celestial being, which makes sense as he was born of the Force (no father, just Shmii and immaculate conception of sorts). The move to the new galaxy or Skylaxy 😅, is Filoni making Star Wars fresh again.

Was Obi Wan appearing to Luke on Hoth also just a figment of his imagination in Empire? No. This is the Star Wars universe, when a character appears it generally is still them, dead or not.

The World Between Worlds plot is "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Scrooged". Ashoka almost echos George Bailey when she says "I choose life" ("I want to live") and Anakin is working Caril Kane vibes as the Ghost of Christmas present when he cuts off the dead end; "Oh, what is this, Frank? I called it last week that this episode would be all about Ahsoka's Mirror trial and she'd have to overcome her guilt and fear, as many major Force wielding characters have had to. Cal Kestis faced the trial against a vision of his old master a few times in Fallen Order, Luke failed the test the first time in the cave on Dagobah, and even Yoda himself had to face that trial in that very same cave shortly after resigning himself into exile. Also there was that random segment in Force Unleasghed 2 where Galen Marrek went into that cave. I also really love the visual detail in this episode of Ahsoka standing along as all the clones and Anakin march forward into the battle, symbolizing how time and the galaxy always march forward but she's still stuck in the past. As Q would put it, "Like a butterfly with its wings pinned to board."

But I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about how when Ahsoka is using her force echo ability, we can hear several times the small ding that plays when Cal Kestis uses the same ability in the newest (and probably the first) game. I honestly thought they overused the sound since when you do it in the game it only plays once when you click on it. Hope you read it and maybe include it!

I'm pretty sure the first Clone Wars flashback we saw (with the purple fog) was the Battle of Teth in the Clone Wars movie! One of the many things that struck me about this episode was how seeing young Ahsoka in live-action made it clear just how messed up the Clone Wars were. In the cartoon, it was surprisingly easy to disregard her age because of the animation. But seeing a real-life child fighting in a war really illustrated how young she was when she was forced into it. Granted, I think she looks younger in this episode than her in-universe age, but that only serves to make the point clearer. I don't think I'll be able to watch The Clone Wars the same way after this!

These breakdowns are my immediate go to after watching anything. It just adds and builds on the depth and magic of what we have watched. Filoni is adding an insane amount of symbolism and depth to this series. We will be studying it for decades much like we have the OT. I actually think Jacen might survive the Jedi Academy. His mom clearly is uneasy about him becoming a Jedi due to what became of his father. She knows her son learning the force might put him in danger someday and I think she is trying hard to prevent that. Jacen clearly wants to be a Jedi but I think she is trying to avoid that as much as she can. Given his age it's also possible is no longer at the temple but then that doesn't really explain where he could be during the sequels. Thats why I think he may not have been part of the new Jedi. Then again trying to explain the poor continuity of the sequels is a fools errand.
@Ruylopez778
@Ruylopez778 Жыл бұрын
Judging by what Filoni has said, they are going to 'certain point of view' the sequels, because they take place for such a short amount of time. So Grogu, Jacen etc are going to be 'doing something else' while the sequels and their backstory mystery boxes are happening. I think channels like this one love to look for connections and references, but Jon and Dave not explicitly contradicting canon doesn't mean they are going to connect everything. I think it would be kind of pointless to kill off these characters in Luke's academy, when Ezra or Ahsoka training Kanan would be much more interesting than anything they tried to do in the sequel era.

@TCO_404 Жыл бұрын
@@Ruylopez778they wouldn't kill them off like that, but they've been pretty open about their shows lining up with the Sequels. Doesn't mean that's all they'll be doing though.
@Ruylopez778
@Ruylopez778 Жыл бұрын
@@TCO_404 Depends on your definition of "lining up". Putting in things like Hux's father as a side character cameo isn't exactly anything more than an easter egg. They've said that Mando takes place before the sequels and how does the galaxy get from ROTJ to TFA - and some people are determined to take that to mean they are 'connecting' everything they are doing into the sequels. I disagree. I think they are continuing with ideas from the animated shows while including a few sequels easter eggs. Ahsoka is largely the opposite of the sequels, since 'just let it in' isn't how the Force works, and hyperspace collisions aren't a thing. The Mando time period actually bothers to set up different factions and develop the setting. I suppose the sequels ignoring anything about the republic or the galaxy except FO and resistance nostalgia bait means that they can at least choose how to fill in the majority of details that the sequels couldn't be bothered to spell out. But then I just find everything about the sequels hollow or dull, so if we spent the next 30 years just exploring the post ROTJ era in the same way the TCW and PT explored that time period for years, I'd be fine with that.

I'm sure someone already pointed this out, but Anakin did NOT give Ahsoka her white sabers just before the Siege of Mandalor. He gave her two blue sabers, which she used during the Siege of Mandalor, then used to survive Order 66. She buried the blue sabers in the crash site of the Republic ship that crashed so she could fake her and Rex's deaths and go into hiding. While in hiding, slipping from planet to planet one step ahead of the rising Empire and Vader's Inquisitors, she had to fashion two new sabers, and used the broken kyber crystal from an Inquisitor she defeated, reversing the bleeding it had undergone. Her pureness in the Force turned that red crystal to white, and since the crystal was in two shards, she had the material to make her characteristic two sabers. Not a huge mistake or anything, just worth noting since the correct story is so incredible.
