I once went to a Star Trek convention that had Doctor Crusher's actress. When she was on stage she said something along the lines of "Let's talk about how Doctor Crusher was a single mother, who was strong and intelligent, and for some reason fell in love with a lamp????" Completely unprompted.
@GigawingsVideo
@GigawingsVideo 7 жыл бұрын
What make me wonder is the romance between Crusher and Picard was forced or not? Because tbh it felt kinda out of the blue. Like it's required for everyone to be paired with someone in that ship.
@TalesOfWar
@TalesOfWar 7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it felt forced, more awkward. Picard and her husband were best friends before his death but they obviously had feelings for each other that would just be wrong given how close they were. That and the whole fraternising with the crew thing.

DS9 Worf > TNG Worf
@TheMrHavish
@TheMrHavish 7 жыл бұрын
That's why I felt Worf worked much better on Deep Space Nine than on TNG. There we actually saw him use his skills in combat, explore his diplomat skills in bringing together Starfleet and the Klingon Empire and engaging interactions with other characters (Gen. Martok, Sisko, Jadzia, etc.). It helped that DS9 had - in my opinion - a rich cast of supporting characters that were both good and bad, so Worf's presence fit right in.

Love the clip where Picard requests Arbitration. The whole scene is him finding a way to force the alien species he's talking to, to force them to let him do what he wants. The alternative is that "Arbitration" he's requesting, which even THEY don't have the patience for (he requested arbitration from a species that is currently in hibernation). I get what it LOOKS like here, but it is quite funny and fun to watch.

Next Generation was definitely the most intellectual series so far. It was passionately ideologic, it displayed essentialy a humanist dream inspired by the rapid development of technology in the last two centuries. Perhaps it is more a depiction of the present and its expectations and desires than of the future. We can all aspire to the ideals of Picard.

My hands down favorite part of Star Trek : The Next Generation is towards the end of the series when Picard is off the Enterprise so they have a different captain altogether and Troi tries to give her opinion to him and he asks why she's not in uniform. YES!!! I love imagining how much fun the actors must have when something like that happens in movies, in the Harry Potter movies I heard Emma and Helena had massive fun teaching each Helena to act as she would were she Emma playing Hermione awkwardly pretending to be Bellatrix, herself... That's some LAYERS man! via Polyjuice, for Gringotts... Plus all the second year Polyjuice fun... In that particular scene and this one, I can tell the actors did a GREAT job... I can see every bit of Captain Picard/Patrick Stewart in that kid's acting, and he looks pretty well the part too.

Did you know he did both those things because he has a bad back? Jonathan Frakes injured his back when he had a job moving furniture, and that makes standing up long times and moving in certain ways difficult for him. So they made leaning on things and sitting down with his back straight part of his character, so he could focus on acting while having some support. He is a trooper!
