Fun fact: The Director and other cast members were surprised when Cage went on stage without first getting on the mocap suit and make-up, and instead spontaneously erupted in flames, doing the entire film without CGI effects. What an actor.

However, no one ever talks about the absolute powerhouse performance of that waiter who had to look Eva Mendes in the face and pretend to shrug like she was just "okay" in the looks department. It's *really* not worth watching unless a) you can turn off your mind and/or b) really really like Nicholas Cage and/or Idris Elba. Even then, Nick Cage has managed to be in far better bad movies; only worse movie that Idris Elba might have been is _28 Weeks Later_ off the top of my head--gods that movie was so fucking dumb.

I know I only half-watched it when it came on TV randomly, but I honestly don't remember at him at all just like I don't remember Sam Elliot of all people being in the first one. But, yeah, none of the actually good actors in the movie could do anything to save that second movie, including Ciarán Hinds and, to a degree, Nicholas Cage himself. It would hardly be the first movie to have suffered such a fate, though few have such an anticlimactic final boss.
