Exactly! I was fine with the first one as a stand alone Film. Hell, if they wanted to expand on it, I could have been more accepting had They not felt the need to then connect to the larger Harry Potter series. Keep it in that universe, fine...makes sense. However, stick to THAT only and create new characters and adventures with the occasional Easter Egg or whatever that reminds people it is still Harry Potter's universe just not his story. But they could not help themselves.
@matthewcarroll25332 жыл бұрын
Man... Damn, a TV show centered around Fantastic Beasts could've been super tight. I mean it basically writes itself plus cliches like "monster of the week" fit perfectly without detracting from creativity. (which is hella rare)

Wizard Steve Irwin, how hard is that
@AtlasV-2 жыл бұрын
That would’ve been great! The book really does lend itself to a monster of the week format, since every chapter just covers a different magical creature. It would’ve been nice to see Newt just traveling around the world and researching magical beasts. But instead we got this.
@panq89042 жыл бұрын
Seriously tho, the Harry Potter generation is also the generation that grew up with Pokémon mania? Ya'know, the powerful magical creatures you can fit into small spaces and carry around with you & befriend? (That is also currently the most profitable franchise in the world) This IP concept was ripe for making bank off of that generation and even other fans of series like Yo-Kai or Monster Hunter ALONGSIDE the already established Potter Fanbase. But then JK had to go and be stupid and make it all about weird wizard politics, awfully written romances, too many nothing side-characters and World War II...
@blahblah64972 жыл бұрын
Yup! But they could not resist the mediocre idea of connecting it to the larger Harry Potter Story instead of creating new characters and adventures that only very rarely remind you through a subtle object, event, or Easter Egg that you are still in the Potterverse but on an entirely different story with no crossover
@michaelkennielsen1422 Жыл бұрын

The whole switch between Johnny Depp and Mads Mikkelsen playing Grindelwald could’ve been easy to explain by adding a trait that’s been a secret up until now. When Graves turns into Grindelwald in the first one, we all assume it was due to transfiguration or Polyjuice Potion, but what if Grindelwald was in fact a Metamorphmagus, and few people knew that except for Dumbledore, another reason Gellert fears him as well. It wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility for his powers to never have been discovered, as it was Albus who defeated him and it could’ve been Albus who put him away as well. This would be sweet too if it was pre planned cause then you could’ve had a different actor play him in every movie.

I mean I don't say he is a bad but he did some at least questionable things in the original movies. You can argue that is was necessary, or at least a little more complex. Fine. But soooo pure of heart, better than anyone? I think what made his character interesting was that he wasn't just "good" and much more complex. But I think J.K. Rowling wants him to be, and simply dosn't care if is contradicts her writing. And I think that dosn't send a good message. It feels more like a, "If someone is known to be the good guy or the authority, than the person is right, even if some thing leave a bad taste in your mouth" kinda thing.

@@shraddhamahapatra8385 Oh right, I forgot. Still though, he didn't exactly seem to bother cleaning up their mess either.

@@Shuizid He was already manipulative towards newt. He didn't even tell him what he really wanted him to do, and why. I pushes people like chess pieces thinking that he has the right, because he knows what he is doing and it will work out for everybody, therefore it's fine. No it's not, I don't say he is evil but not pure of heart.

Ryan has stuck to such a tight format for Pitch Meetings that he could easily subvert our expectations in a number of hilarious ways ☺️

Literally right after the "You don't think people are going to catch on that this is just a big cash grab? No I don't think people are that smart..." exchange I got an ad for the Secrets of Dumbledore show on HBO Max... Sometimes the universe gives you a *wink wink* *nudge nudge* that's so on the nose you just have to sit back and appreciate it...

Could you imagine a world where a known criminal can run for and be elected leader? What a wild universe .

Name 1 country in the world where that isn't currently the case. Bonuspoints for each one you can name where the leadership is run by people who definitely have not, are not and never will commit any crime

11:50 yeah, the idea that a known criminal could become the leader of the nation is absurd. Totally unrealistic.

“Isn’t he a wanted criminal?” “He is, yeah, but he gets some politicians to say that he’s not a wanted criminal anymore so that means he can be a candidate immediately.” Ah, such a refreshing escape from the real world.

I have to point out that it would actually be a pretty good idea to have a briefcase that looks like an American muggle briefcase, consideringthe statute of secrecy. You know just so long as there's some way that 1 muggles can't open the fantastic beast compartment and 2 if it gets lost you can track it.
