Sure, but does it change the fact Spider-man would kick his ass? Spidey's beaten one of Galactus heralds (he also defeated and got Thanos jailed in a very bad story from the 80's but for the sake of argument I'm ignoring it), he's beaten not one BUT TWO of the X-men possessed by the Phoenix force (they represented 2/5 of the Phoenix, let me point it out) and to be completely fair Spidery's villains give him an edge towards preparation in a fight against Iron Man. He's faced people with this weird suits (Stilt Man, the Beetle), people with huge range (Doc Ock with his Adamantium arms - that could knock out the Hulk - just to keep at one, but Green Goblin, Shocker) AND he's faced far more powerful foes such as Mephisto's son Black Heart ON A FIST FIGHT (sure, alongside Daredevil but still pretty amazing). I'm sorry but there's just no way for Iron Man to top that.
@Draecon6669 жыл бұрын
Let's not forget what Peter has done over the years. Built and upgrades the web shooters, made the formula for the webbing and has changed it to adapt to different villains (insulated for Shocker and Electro as an example), he went to college and got a degree while he was still going out to fight crime, taught at a high school, and within the last few years went on to Horizon labs to invent radical advances in technology AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT to his main uses for the lab which happen to be for his stints out as Spider-man. Sure, Stark is a pure genius from birth, but I give the edge to Spidey just because he wanted to learn and consistently pushed himself to get smarter.

If anyone can beat Dan, it's either gonna be Nick Mundy or Mark (had he won) for sure. What Dan has over so many others, more than just the knowledge of movies (which pretty much they all have had), is the arguing skills. Many of the people brought on here just can't argue. They can talk about movies all day, but not argue them. I am very impressed with Mark. He's quick-witted and argues very fluidly. And everyone knows about Lord Mundy. ROCKHOPPA901 Things can change, look at Spiderman. Fox needs all the help they can get. Deadpool is the only character that breaks the fourth wall, taking that into consideration he'd know about Fox and Marvel's issues, so it would be the perfect movie for both studios to collaborate. The character could spawn his own universe where Fox and Marvel team up to create new franchises. Its not likely but it would be very interesting to see IMO

Spencer's TARS argument was definitely the best.
@kmurphy06209 жыл бұрын
Another Spencer and Dan face-off to come! That final battle is going to be so difficult to win. I always think they give the best arguments. Spencer dominated that fight. I'm surprised it was that close in the end. Marc was much more likable when surrounded by opponents who were low-key, and his arguments are good. I think the flow of the discussion/argument in last weeks just took something away from a serious debate. I would like to see more material about movies which are more recent. You're going to get a lot of the same arguments over and over again if you ask questions about the Greatest of all time no matter the topic it's about. The winner may also be the same over and over again. Andy does a good job trying to make that the case though. The problem being with covering newer movies is that the audience may not have seen the subject, and the panelists may not have as well unless you give them notice to do their homework. I guess my point is that they should try to talk about new movies as much as possible while staying interesting for the teen male 15 - 35 demographic they're playing towards, and I think they're close to doing that already. The debate format allows for a lot of new faces to the program. I think the episodes are best when there are 2 regulars but there is a single new face to the program. When they're all new to the program it normally makes the episode feel noncompetitive or lots of poor debate strategies. It's partially the prep the panelists do, but it's also the judge not controlling the argument.

End credits scene: It's a dark room. Captain America walks into a dimly lit bar. There is one guy sitting at the counter. He's big and strong looking, but we can't see his face. Cap says, "I know who you are and I've been ordered to bring you back to Nick Fury." The man stands up and angrily throws a shot glass at Cap. The camera slowly zooms in on his arm until we can only see his fist and wrist. We then hear a familiar voice say, "Go fuck yourself." Instantly after he finishes the sentence, 3 adamantium claws stick out of his fist and the screen cuts to black.

The Fly is the best Jeff Goldblum film. You really shouldn't try to make the "what does the average moviegoer like most" argument; by that rationale, McDonalds is the world's best restaurant.
@vdsp0119 жыл бұрын
Problem is, most people have had McDonalds, but probably have never been to your favorite shawarma place. Between the devil they know and the devil they don't, they likely aren't going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I agree popular answers shouldn't always win, but clearly these contestants don't care about foreign/art cinema, and they don't care about obscure pictures. If you pick something that isn't well known, isn't popular, or isn't recent, you're going to lose. Sad but true.
@davidmendez38999 жыл бұрын

1. Yes, were already going to see it, don't spoil it.2. The U.S. President is giving all the Avengers medals, and then out of nowhere a spaceship lands in the crowd. The Guardians of the Galaxy come out of the ship and than it cuts to "Hooked on a Feeling"3. Iron man has missles. Spiderman has string. Nuff said.4. Scarlett Johanson's character from Her: she's the only robot in the history of cinema who can give you a boner5.Jurassic Park: Kind of a no-brainer6. George Lucas wakes up from a 16 year hypnotic phase where he is brainwashed into ruining iconic francises. Lucas revives his career by working with James Cameron on an Avatar sequel. To show his gratitude, James Cameron gives George Lucas a terminator played by the rock. The terminator goes back in time to assassinate Hayden Christenson, Chris Lloyd, and Jar Jar Binks. Don't think about it too much, just laugh.7. Darth Vader, now that Disney owns the rights, he is technically a Disney Villian

Rise of the sugars underestimating Spider-Man so badly right now dude... You do realize Spider Sense means he can dodge almost anything thrown at him right? And that "string" can do a lot of damage if used properly like Spiderman does.
@riseofthesugars53129 жыл бұрын
miamidolphinsluciano Yes, I know what Spiderman is capable of, and if this was a one on one fight Spiderman would win. But if Iron man and Spiferman ever encountered each other, Iron Man could easily activate an army of robots he created. Plus the webs, while extremely powerful, could never bust through a hulk buster.

This was a great episode, I think these guys are some of the most well-rounded and knowledgeable guests that Movie Fights has had. I really like Mike Carlson's weird, quirky sense of humour as well as Marc Andreyko's politically incorrect sense of humour! Spencer Gilbert is also really witty and all three really do have a great knowledge of film! I don't know about anyone else, but I also think that Andy Signore has really developed as a judge, his logic is always pretty sound and he attempts to be as impartial as possible (which is super difficult). My one question is why do you discourage swearing? Personally I think swearing is pretty funny when used properly (Nick Mundy) actually enhances arguments. It's not like your audience is really young, I doubt many people under the age of 15 have seen half of the movies you talk about. Anyway keep up the good work Screen Junkies!

Hey, so this is a fan question so whoever reads this please tell me what you think. What is your opinion on having Tony Stark create Ultron in the new film over Ant-Man (he is the one who actually creates Ultron in the comic books) and please consider the new Ant-Man movie to be released. I think they should have kept Ant-Man as the creator because they could have tied in him in some way as the creator or maybe he wrote the algorithm making him a co-creator or Stark's inspiration for an AI robot, etc. I think it would have increased the hype or lack of hype about the Ant-Man movie and helped expand the universe by having a world threatening problem created by a new face. We know Loki and Thanos and others by now so I think it would have been cool to have a new enemy pop up because another superhero out there in the Marvel Universe created a monster rather than Stark mess up. I mean, he seems to mess up a bit when it comes to tech in my opinion. Building machines and suits and then they get out of hand or someone wants to steal it and he has to fix it. He was the one who outfitted the SHIELD systems which nearly killed tons of people in Captain America 2. I just don't like how Stark is the cause of this. It's not a bad take granted but I think I would have preferred Ant-Man to be in some responsible if only partly. I do understand how that might throw a wrench in the movie as they already have so many characters but since they're planning on doing a huge Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy thing, they might want to ease up to having such a large cast. That's my opinion. Anyone else wanna share?
@unlobo63309 жыл бұрын
Everything I've heard is that Tony takes an already existing program and weaponizes it and that is the creation of Ultron. Now many people are speculating that it is Chitauri in origins and that is the reasoning for Ultrons warp mentality that causes him to rebel against his creators. However another theory that is high up there is that the program Tony builds upon was originally created by Hank Pym and that the flashback scenes to the past that are meant to belong to Captain America supposedly will either also or mostly be about Hank Pym and perhaps some nod to his original Ultron plans and maybe even the reason for why in the future he isn't in charge of his own company. Now if this is to be considered true which I would think it would be could lead in to one of the Screen Junkies questions of what do you think the post credit scene would be. I personally think that the post credit scene will play out something to the tune of this. You have Tony Stark alone somewhere preferably a bar of some sort thinking about the aftermath that has ensued and you have Hank Pym aka Michael Douglas walk in and say "did you really think I wouldn't recognize my own work, I told your father the world wasn't ready then and I'm telling you the world isn't ready now." Tony:"What do you want Pym" Hank:"I need your help monitoring somebody" Granted this isn't the greatest constructed scene feel free to pick it apart but better ideas are also welcome because I think this will be the decision they make to tease Ant-Man even if it is he fun one that will no doubt be in there because let us be clear there will no doubt be two post credit scenes the fun and the serious one. Nonetheless this is just good business.
@ThatOneAccount9319 жыл бұрын
I like the latter idea you gave and the post credit scene you suggested. I honestly have no idea what I'd do for an ending scene. It wouldn't tie in so much to the story line but I really would like to see a female superhero. I mean, we're getting Scarlet Witch and we already have Black Widow but I'd like to see another bad ass chick ya know?
@JohnGoetzGaming9 жыл бұрын
I love it. It would be some random guy as far as moviegoers are concerned. It hits home much more with Tony doing it.
@unlobo63309 жыл бұрын
ThatOneAccount931 Female super hero doesn't really fit into the dynamic of anything going on in the universe right now. Spider-Man could be teased because they need the main going public to know he is back home, Ant-Man to promote their upcoming movie and further expand the universe, Black Panther to confirm his presence, as well as Dr. Strange.
@ThatOneAccount9319 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I acknowledged that in saying it didn't really follow the story line to put in a female superhero at the end. But, I was just saying what I would like, not what should happen or is going to happen, ya know. Just wishing. :)

This has been covered already. The Terminator is considered a cyborg, not a robot.
@guitarvs.physics54739 жыл бұрын
James Farr oh.... that makes sense.
@Vader470009 жыл бұрын
James Farr Yeah, but the terminator isn't really a cyborg. A cyborg is a being with interdependent organic and mechanical parts. The Terminator is really a robot with a flesh disguise. That's not really a cyborg. Without the organics the robot functions just fine.
@vdsp0119 жыл бұрын
Vader47000 When Sarah Conner asks whether or not it's a robot, Kyle Reese in the first movie specifically says the Terminator is not a robot, but a cybernetic organism. In the second film, The Terminator refers to himself as a cybernetic organism : "living tissue over a metal endoskeleton." cybernetic organism = cyborg.
@Vader470009 жыл бұрын
James Farr I'm familiar with the dialogue in the movie. All it proves is that James Cameron doesn't now what a cyborg is. For example, Reese's reasoning that they're cyborgs is that they have a living skin. But, the T-800s serving as foot soldiers at the beginning of T2 don't have living tissue over their skeleton, yet operate exactly the same way. The living components have no bearing in the operation of the mechanics. When the skin is burned off the terminator in the first movie, it's still operates just fine. Hence, it's a robot with a flesh suit disguise, not a true cyborg. The Terminator in its pure form is completely mechanical and doesn't have any organic components (yes, there are teeth that might remain, but these are still part of the disguise, which is what the robot is designed to do). Look at it another way. The term means "cybernetic organism." The key word is organism, ie a living, biological creature. cybernetic is the modifier. Hence, cybernetic organism means a biological creature modified with technology. What is a terminator? It's a mechanical device with skin grafted onto it so it looks human. It is not at its core an organism. Now, you could argue that the living tissue itself is the organism, since it can age or whatever they say in the new movie, but that at most just makes it a symbiotic relationship between a robot and an organized system of cells that resemble human skin.

Also, a humble wish / constructive criticism: Enforce a rule to not interrupt a fighter who is talking during the pitching round. One of the best type of rounds you guys have are the pitching ones(plot, tagline, title etc.). Marc and Spencer got to do theirs in peace but poor Mike got interrupted just when I as a viewer was getting into his pitch. Not fair. It is always SUPER fun when the fighters have a heated argument with each other(where interrupting is a common weapon :D), but interrupting a fighter who is pitching is not fair. I love your show!
