@ScreenSurgeons : thanks for your efforts, I got the LCD replaced at a local shop and total cost was 78usd including installation. The old screen which came out was from LG, the new one installed is exilient or something i don't remember exactly.

Thanks, this video has very helpful! But you left out the most difficult step - getting the 2 screws at the bottom of the screen back in (the first 2 screws you remove). Lay the laptop on its screen, open as far as it can go. Put the screws in the holes and use a non-magnetic small blade screwdriver to tighten the screws using the side of the blade.

Excellent video, I banged my head on my compaq cq42_450TU Laptop today and screen got 100% damaged. can someone reply to confirm, I would be needing a LED screen, some laptop shop said its LCD screen but I am sure its a L.E.D Screen as its written at HP website too.

Hello my screen is three quarters white.. It seems as if the crack is on the inside. Fortunately, the bulb is still working properly . Would this be the procedure I would use or is it a more serious issue ?

The screen not only had the video cable, which I unplugged, but also had a red and white wire coming out of the screen on the lower corner. How do I detach that?

If you're worried about static shock, why would you want socks on, but not shoes? Socks create static by rubbing on carpet, while shoes are rubber-soled and do not promote the creation of static...
