Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor - Volkswagen Polo

How to remove and replace the accelerator pedal position sensor on a 2002 to 2009 VW Polo Mk4 9N. In most cases the pedal position sensors are sealed and not serviceable, you usually have to renew the complete unit.
Most typical signs of a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor include:
• Hesitation when you press the accelerator pedal.
• Rough Idling.
• The car will not accelerate faster than a certain speed.
• The car won't change gears or is jerky when you press the accelerator (automatic transmission)
• Poor fuel efficiency.
• Engine management light may illuminate.
• Car enters into ‘limp mode’
