Just tell them the simple facts. Untold magical enemies and creatures have been threatening the world, even as simple things like friendship falls to the wayside. The world is falling to darkness, both within and without, and Twilight, unbound by the need to govern the Celestial bodies is the best choice to deal with this darkness. She was chosen by the Element of Harmony, specifically magic, which is not something just any pony can claim. She has defeated powerful enemies that other alicorns couldn't deal with alone. These threats are only just the start, dangers that a unicorn simply couldn't deal with. Her destiny is simple. It will be so that you can stand here, alive and well, to question her actions and existence even as she risks everything to protect you. Her destiny is to insure that the world is not consumed by darkness, hatred, and total annihilation.

Late reply, I know, but I just couldn't get it off my mind. It's clear that Celestia turned Twilight into an Alicorn for a sense of security and protection in Equestria. This fact became obvious when the three princesses gathered to hide their magic in Twilight, and then had her face down Tirek. In short, Twilight is a weapon, Equestria's weapon. If Celestia were to tell this straight to their ponies, they'd be downright scared and protesting that she left the fate of Equestria in the hooves of a student she just turned into a princess.

I just want to enforce how you and your friends continue to do a great job, and how you all continue to inspire people like me in times of doubt, don't ever loss sight of that. What map is this? What revelations? You need to show them PROOF that Twilight has some destiny, and even then, there is the chance that becoming an official princess might not have been the conclusion you needed to draw.

I mean yes she did her trials for yes, but the thing is that her horn don't glow. Also magic come from Twilight's heart so possible that destiny transformed her and all Celestia did was watch it happen. All lease what got I could be wrong.

@@phantomdragon3893 Whether the alicornification in and of itself was Celestia’s doing or not, the fact remains that Twilight’s actual coronation was a choice. I’ve always believed that Twilight should’ve been given that decision of whether or not she actually wanted to be an official ruling princess or just an have her alicorn status as a testament to what she’s done. Then, after some time, convinced that Equestria needs a Princess of Friendship to help keep Harmony in check, she can accept the position.

In this world or another, the mainstream media sucks ass. I don't see why Twilight wasn't part of this conference when it primarily concerns her. I think it's important to establish what sort of backlash Celestia actually faces. What are they going to do? Not vote for her in the elections that they don't have? Rise up in rebellion and depose her only to freeze to death when the sun fails to rise the next day? In Game of Thrones, the king still depended on a power base of noble houses . In Dragon Age, the king of Ferelden still needs his banns and teyrns. Neither case seems to apply for Celestia so it just comes of odd that these ponies can keep shouting her down like this. "Like banshees lying in ambush for a weakened prey" Banshees are spirits known for their wails that either herald or cause death, not for their tendency to ambush and hunt down prey. Metaphor confusion there.

*Pfft.* We all know Destiny's bollocks. and that it isn't how reality works in ANY iteration of fiction. there are universes where Twilight doesn't become an Alicorn, there are ones where she does. *Nothing is set in stone, but indeed, if enough choices are made... it's the inevitable outcome.*

While they were asking her reason for turning Twilight into an alicorn, two things came to mind. 1) Alicorn Twilight shit everywhere. Dolls, dresses, movies, the list goes on. and 2) If she knew that their enemy was planning something, to say it would tell their enemy they know their plans, and are ready for it. That would be showing your hand in a game of poker. Why would the government tell their enemies their plans and strategies?
